I'm assuming that this snes emulator also works with the supercard. Am I wrong? I can't seem to find much about it here and playing snes games on the GBA is what I am looking to do.

If anyone could let me know of their experince with this I'd be greatful. Otherwise I'll have to get one of those ezflash setups instead. Des

i read it works on the supercard just fine. the only reason i havent tried it myself is because it simply isnt a good emulator. it has NO sound whatsoever to begin with. so thats a huge downer. also its compatability isnt that great. im amazed they got it to run as well as it does though. even if it ran full speed and all games were perfect, i still wouldnt use it if it didnt have sound... sound is just too important to me when it comes to games. im sure someone on here has tested it out.

ya,no sound sucks. I'm starting ti think the GBA isnt the machine for emulating SNES roms. I think aft after the cost of the GBA and the supercard+CF card my money would be much better spent on one of these GP32 FLU's http://www.retrogames.com/gp32flu_review_1.html , I know its off topic but anyone have any experience with these?

get a ds. more than likely they will emulate the snes on the DS sometime this year. somehow...the only reason gba cant have a fully functional emulator is due to its lack of ram. the ds is more powerful and could do this if they could just find a way. probably through the development of some new kind of flash cards that can go in the DS card slot. who knows..

thanks for the advice but i find the DS to be a nasty little machine. to big and awkward for what I am looking for and I can't imagine using one of those touch screens for any game Id play.
Upon final thought I think i should just hold out and pick up a PSP. they will no doubt have SNES emulators (if there arent already, im searching) and many more  to come like ps1 and maybe saturn. It has the best screen of them all and doesnt require a memory card attachment like the supercard. I will just have to be patient I guess for a portable SNES.

hey, thanks for the wicked links. lol. I'd hardly call hauling around a bunch of snes carts portable but, I'd love to build something like that , really could you imagine actually using a cartridge based setup like those anywhere other than your own living room? If only those GP32's were less money. I'm not gonna spend psp type cash on one though. I figure if im gonna invest $200+ in a portable game rig it better be alot slicker than that.

Shoot. I was under the impression that the GBA could emulator SNES. Oh well, there's plenty of GBA roms out there and even some SNES-to-GBA updates.  :D

Maybe someone will find a way to use the full DS hardware when loading from the GBA cart port and then we'll get better SNES emulation. Crossing fingers. Heck, I just spent nearly $300 on this set-up, DS + Mario64 + CF card and reader + SuperCard. Man, I spend way too much money on games!  :o

:D  haha, do i ever know about spending too much on games. for that kind of cash I'd be pickin up a psp or even the gp32.They are just more capable consoles.
I think at this point any future money i am going to spend on portable gaming will be saved/pooled towards getting a PSP. I'm pretty sure a machine packing a 333mhz proc,  32megs of ram and stereo speaker. can handle a  xsnes port. and it has a memory stick reader built in to it. I think it seems pretty optimistic to think tha gameboy will ever see a true (mono) snes emulator.  :(

Well I just got my Supercard and it works great. Few nitpicks...I don't like how you have to convert games, pictures, movies, music to work on it, but oh well.

I just tried SNESAdvance for the hell of it, and the only game I could get to work at all was Link to the Past. And of course there's no sound, and the top and bottom parts of the screen are chopped off.

But, if we all cross our fingers maybe some clever folks will figure out how to access the DS's full hardware thru the GBA port! Then they could update SNESAdvance!

Not to mention the possibility of using DS roms. (But I'd imagine Ninty would have thought of this already...the DS could be its own linker, and it'd be even easier to rip roms than it is with GBA.)

I hope this'll be possible because it opens up lots of cool possibilities (the emulators for one, and what I'd REALLY like to see is PDA functionality), but we'll just have to see I guess.
