Why can't the SCDS1 have this?

Man, wish the scds1 could have this without having to buy a new card. Bummer for those with the non sdhc style (which is most at the moment).

From gbatemp news.
QuoteNext R4 Kernel coming soon!

SDHC Support: I never thought this would be possible, but the exact words they used ("It Will support SDHC Card") leaves no room for doubt! SDHC, which stands for Secure Digital High Capacity, supports microSD cards capacities up to 32 Gigabytes!

Wii Connectivity: it appears the next kernel will have fixed Wii connectivity. This feature is notably used in the Pokémon Diamond/Pearl games.

Game fixes: although they haven't explicitely suggested it, I do believe and hope that the next firmware will fix compatibility for important games such as Worms Open Warfare 2 and others, that require the ARM7 Fix to work.

Release date: they told me they hoped the new firmware would be ready before the end of the week, but they weren't too sure about that so I wouldn't be expecting it anytime soon.

ive got a m3 ds simply which my 3 year old son uses & if the r4 team come through with this update im going to swap with him
because the supercard ds one is getting slower with each update the save system & cheat system are just annoying me now after using my sons M3

i like your thinking on the swap, he won't really know the difference, just like my 8yr old doesn't know the slowness of animal crossing on her SC SD

Meh, I stopped using my R4, CycloDS(and my other carts), and am just using the SCDS1 now. It's just as good as those(but yeah, the cheat menu is disgustingly ugly, but I don't use it, I do like the guide function though, and no other cart has that). SDHC doesn't matter to me, if it did, I'd use my Evo. But 2GB is just enough for games, as the DS is not all that great to listen to music and watch movies on.

And honestly, I don't think the R4 Team is going to pull of SDHC support in a simple firmware update. Maybe I'm wrong though.
Setup:
White Lite
Slot 1: CycloDSx2GB Kingston Japan, Supercard DSOne+1GB Nokia(J), 16G G6 DS Real, 16G DS-Linker, R4x1GB Kingston(J),
Slot 2: G6 Lite
PSP: 3.40 OE-A

Im no tech geek and all but if supercard had to revamp their entire chip (seen on dudu.exe's pictures of the new supercard ds one HDSC pic with the 3 pcb boards) then i dont think the R4 team will be able to pull it off successfully. Yes it MAY work but i believe if the current r4 is upgraded to support SDHC, it will lag alot.. maybe even more than when the supercard ds one came out  ;D
Polar White NDS Lite || SupercardDSOne v1.0 SP5 || RiDATA 1gb + Kingston (J) 2gb

LOL fortunate for me I bought an R4 :P ;D

and the funny thing was it was on the recommendation of users on THIS FORUM  :P  2funny

but then again I also commented elsewhere on a similar  thread  here the quote above is also posted there ..... that It may require a hardware update or that it would need one to make it compatible! :(

Same as me :P
But I'm happy with R4 now.
SDHC....I don't think I need more space than 2GB.
