Supercard V3 SDHC and NESDS problem

The only problem I am having is using NESDS.  It works on the V3 card using a non SDHC (I have a 2GB), but it does NOT work using two different brand 4GB SDHC's that I have tried.  I have tried putting less roms in directories and is still does not work.

If you are not going to use NESDS, there is no problem using a 4GB card, but for me it is a problem.  I hope they fix this or I wasted my money on buying a second Supercard (I already have a V2). :(

maybe is a sdhc speed issue.. not the Supercard.. if the normal SD works

Devil_Spawn

sounds like a dldi issue to me, are you using the correct one?

Using the same version that works using the 2gb card.

As far as speed, Downhill Jam and the Castlevania movies play the same speed as the actual games cards play.

I have no idea why it's not working for you, but if you absolutely must use NES DS, try packaging the games in with the *.nds file itself.  Follow the old "slot-1" instructions from http://wiki.pocketheaven.com/NES_DS

This limits you to a certain number of games per *.nds file, but at least it's an option.

Dudu.exe

I cant test it becouse i just have a 1gb microsd

dantheman,

Packing the games worked, though at a max of 3 megs per file, I have quite a few files.  Thanks for the advice, because at least they work now!

The odd thing is that though nesDES is not working, the Sega and Gameboy emu's work fine and have more games than the nes directory did.  That is why I think it has something to do
with nesDS and SDHC cards, since it works fine with the 2GB card.

Dudu.exe

Im sure the problem is the SDHC flashmemory  speed

SDHC is faster. also, nesds doesnt require high speed.

When the unit worked, it played every game I played just as fast as the actual games (I have a BUNCH of DS games, but like having them on one card as well as NES games)

I just posted a separate note about my recent problems.  The card has now died and is not recognized at boot up.  I am back to playing my DS games the old fashioned way until I get another unit.

nesDS still did not work correctly and I was using the same directory that worked fine on my V2 version of the Supercard one.

IF a game loaded, it would eventually lock up- even when compiling roms with the bat file (less than 3megs was in the file- about 12 games)

Not all of the games would show up in the file when launched.

The V2 card plays roms in a directory that has almost 200 in it- no problems.

Perhaps this all has something to do with the card being bad?

well the reason y it doesn't work is because 4gb(sdhc) and up use fat32 which some homebrew don't use or have problems with

Sorry to hear about your card problems.  I've thought of a possible solution though.  Barni created his own Supercard DS DLDI file you could try using, available at http://blog.dev-scene.com/barni/2007/09/14/dldi-driver-for-supercard-ds-one-and-ezflash-v4/

I appreciate the link, but it looks like someone posted on the 28th that it does not work with SDHC.  I am now certain that the problem is SDHC/Fat32 related.  nestDS does not appear to
work correctly with these type of memory cards.  It worked fine using a 2gb.

My Supercard is dead now anyways, so I need to wait until Kicktrading sends a replacement.
