Vizio's are good value HDTV's but Olevia's are #1 in budget HDTV's IMHO.  I have the one I sent you a link to and it easily rivals my parents' $2000+ Samsung in picture quality.  Higher contrast ratio than your vizio and a better price.  Read the reviews out there, they look amazing in HD and very adequate in SD for it being a HDTV.  I have one and absolutely couldn't be happier.  Plus, you don't want to buy electronics from China-Mart...they have specific model TV's made just for their store that are made of the cheapest/crappiest components possible.  Atleast the ones in store are...dunno about online.

I've owned both Olevia (Syntax) and Vizio.  The Vizio TV's are by far higher quality sets.  No comparison.

Many of the Olevia models from 12-18 months ago (including mine) have defective IR receivers, and will stop responding to Remote Controls..

I'm acultly thinking of buying one of these and was wondering if there any good?

That's interesting.  From what I've seen, I haven't been impressed by the Vizio sets at all.  Might have been the sources people were giving them though.  I still swear that my 360 or HD cable looks no different on my $500 Olevia than it does on $2000 Sammy's and Sony's.

I may very well have a defective IR receiver though.  The remote has been extra finicky recently.  All of a sudden, it'll take a good 5 seconds to respond to me trying to switch sources.  I'll probably just wait and have CC replace it in a year or two when I want a bigger TV anyways.

The one I bought supports all resolutions up to 1080p <3 Best day for my Ps3 was when we brought home the Vizio..

You can't judge a TV's picture quality in most retail environments, especially when they are hooked to an analog source which is split 20 different ways to all the TV's on display.

Yes, it is true.

Try to find the vizio VW32L anywhere but walmart...you can't.  Vizios are good TV's...just not the ones from Walmart.  That's how china-mart works...they get companies to make cheap, inferior products specifically for their store.  Many times, even the packaging looks identical.  I've bought Kleenex at walmart that looks identical to the stuff at the grocery store only to find that they're incredibly crappy and cheap.

Here's another example of a samsung that's only sold at wal-mart and like 2 other crappy places online:

People think that since you're buying something at wal-mart, you're getting a good deal when in fact, all you're getting is an inferior product at a price that's only slightly less than what you'd pay at a real store.

Also, I have realized that all of the vizios I have seen in the past have been purchased at wal-mart...so I can't really give any first hand feedback about their other models.
