My brother and friend both have a kingston 2gb, I on the other hand ordered a 4gb Sandisk. I'm afraid that even though mine has a higher capacity it has lower performance. So my question to you is this, is mine worse or does it really not matter?

It depends.  Look on the back and tell us where each one was made.  Japanese cards are faster than Taiwanese ones and will run problem games like Castlevania Portrait of Ruin.
