Hi guys, I wish to run GBA homebrew files (.gba) on my Supercard Lite. Specifically these: http://gba.pqrs.org/, both Vulkanon and BulletGBA. I tried renaming the extensions to .gba but all I got is a white screen. I've got a black DS Lite unflashed, with an R4 to act as a passkey and a Supercard Lite (v1.84)

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks ^_^

Why exactly are you renaming the extensions?  They're already in *.gba format, you just have to extract them from the zip files first.

If the GBA files still don't play, try patching with the Supercard patcher first, but if it's not needed then don't bother.

Do you need to be in GBA mode to run GBA homebrew, or does the DS detect it automatically?

I renamed the extensions because they were in .rom.gba format, so I changed them to .gba just to be on the safe side. No big deal.

EDIT: Thanks dan, you really are the man. Your solution worked like a charm, Thanks again ^_^

On a side note, are VBA save files compatible with SC GBA save files?

Most of the time you can boot it up on DS mode and launch the *.gba file, and it will switch to GBA mode and load the game.  However, for files with corrupt headers you must start in GBA mode first.  I actually have one file that only works when booted from DS mode, as strange as that is.

They should be, yes.  You may want to pad your VBA save to 64 KB, but other than that it should work.
