Hi,

I've managed to find a DS lite in stock which is a minor miracle, I currently have a DS and a SC DS One, I've previously had a R4 / M3 Simply and just want a nice simple card as it's for a 7 year old but want good support.

Just wondered what the feedback is like Should I go for an R4 or is the m3 ds real worth the extra $10 ? I've got a GBA Micro with an EZ-IV so GBA support really doesn't interest me. and I have a full size EZ 3-In one for the DS so again web browser - no interest

cheap?

try a TOP TOY DS yes the neo team made it and YES they had bad support but ... its shaping up to be the BUDGET CARD TO HAVE :)

shop around they can be had for as little as $26.90 and thats WITH the RUMBLE PACK!!! (ds lite version)

try dealextreme :)

mmmm not sure, i once got an xg flash2 which was cheap but a false economy as it was never properly supported and had a few bugs not ironed out, may even have been same team !

What's the deal with the ds real, is it the simply with sdhc & official rumble/ram/gba add on ? I've noticed the sc ds one v3 is cheap on bamboogaming so may just get another! R4 is still tempting as OS is a little more kiddy friendly, saying that my daughter has no problem with the scds we have! Doh!

if your that unsure just go with the r4ds for 32$ its not that much more and is very simple, unless you want the sdhc support then your out of luck.

ive got to say the DSTT is the best cart ive ever owned & if you use YSMENU the homebrew loader you get a very user friendly menu
plus a lot of things the original loader does not have

Semi-offtopic, I was just browsing dealextreme and I found THIS http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.4707

I haven't read any big revews on the card or anything, but at $9.21 with free shipping it looks like the budget card.

Aside from the really cool label it's probably pretty useless. 128Mb, that's megabits. That's 16 megabytes.

yeah way off topic this is for CHEAP SLOT 1 CARDS!

besidesTHAT ..

a) it has no PASSME TYPE CARD WITH IT so unless you can borrow someone elses to use FLASHME you are pretty much stuck with GBA!

b) its a FULL SIZED SLOT 2 CARD for DS PHAT so its gunna stick outta a ds lite about half an inch or so!

c) read the small print ....

Quote

-Can use both NDS and GBA for transfer ***(the cable provided is for GBA though)*** (how you going to get ds roms on it ?? know one knows..oh wait see ##)

-Original cart size (nothing sticking out)**  (does not state that with a LITE it WILL INDEED STICK OUT!!)

-Can use homebrew (so you can play NES games too) ** (does not tel you that you need to repack them as a gba rom or if it uses the roms native on the card)

Cons: -Limited size, 4 games max ;( **(thats fine if you only want 4 games I guess lol but good luck with DS ROMS as most are 65mb in size for good games!)

-If you don't have NDS (with flashcart) or LPT port on your computer you'll be screwed. **( YOU CONNECT VIA A SERIAL PRINTER PORT!!!! some new boards dont even have a SERIAL PRINTER PORT!!! .. as 98% of all new printers use USB! doh! :()

I would say tho the biggest issue here would be the lack of a SLOT 1 PASSME CARD!

followed by this GLARING ISSUE as mentioned in some of the RANTS in the complaints/reviews

As confirmed previously you will need a GBA or a GBA SP to program this product!

##You still need an original GBA or GBA SP to program it as the DS has not got a socket to fit a DATA LEAD for multiplayer..... SURPRISE!!! oh they didnt explain that much in the gba part doh!!! lol )

Sounds about as useful as that XGFlash 2 I have sat in the drawer- sold my GBA SP and picked up a micro - can't use it now.

to be honest it wasn't worth it!

It may seem useless, but getting a 16 MB NOR-based flashcart for $10 is still a pretty good deal.  My 128 MByte (1 Gbit) Flash2Advance Ultra cost over $100 when I bought it.  True, you have to have a GBA to flash it, but it's still very good for GBA gaming.

Think of it this way:  for $10 you can flash a single game to it and give it to someone as a gift or something.  Cheaper than a GBA game, and if they get sick of the game you can flash another one to it for them.

Lol that actually is a good deal, I got one for $20 and then I found this place about w/e I signed in for the first time.  I resold it for 30  :smitten:
