Got NDSTT and Supercard DS One SDHC on eval - any opinions?

Hi guys,

As title, my usual supplier has been good enough to send me both the NDSTT and Supercard DS One to see which I like before buying - given them both a try now and on the face of it the NDSTT has more friendly interface, but I'm aware the Supercard has a few more functions, most of which I won't probably use.

Just wondering if anyone has any opinions either way and whether I've missed something glaringly obvious which means I should get one over the other? (price not an issue).

Thanks in advance.

Supercard series has been around for a long time from slot 2 to Slot 1 and there is always firmware updates.
NDSTT new card on the block don`t know what the support will be like in the future.

I would personaly go for the supercard if it was my choice

dstt doesn't have alphabetizing or the ability to real time save which I think you would use if you knew what it was  ;)  real time save is where you can save at ANY point in any game instead of having to get to a save point everytime.  If you don't need that then keep the dstt since it's simpler.

DSTT is a GREAT BUDGET CARD  :)

If you want a dirt cheap no nonsense card then go with the DSTT other functions real time save etc may come later :)

Thanks for replies - I have a SC Lite a while back and was very pleased with the support, so that is definitely in the One's favour. Perhap's I'll stick with what I know and keep the SC.

Only other thing I've noticed is that the NDSTT seems quite flimsy compared to the SC (even though from what I read prior to receiving it, the quality was meant to be very good), the packaging of the SC beats it hands down (not hugely important however) and the NDSTT is slightly shorter  meaning the micro SD sticks out of the top *very* slightly.

Interface definitely better on the TT though :)

If you want simplicity and ease of use, go with the DSTT.  However, if you're willing to learn how to use some of the advanced features of the SCDS, I'd suggest going with that.  For instance, the SCDS can do the following functions the DSTT cannot:
1.  Real-time in-game cheat menu for enabling/disabling specific cheats when you want (other cards can only change when the game boots, or can only enable/disable ALL cheats in-game)
2.  Play media files with its built-in version of Moonshell (though for video files it's best to launch the latest 1.71 version manually)
3.  Patch homebrew to soft-reset
4.  Real-time save, very useful
5.  In-game guide, interface sucks but it's a godsend for difficult RPGs

If any of those sound interesting to you, or you think you may wish to use one of them in the future, then stick with the SCDS.

However, right now hold L+R upon startup and see if you get any errors aside from the normal "not find test file" error.  If you get any PSRAM or FLASH errors, you've got a defective unit and should make sure you get a working replacement.  A lot of people on the official Supercard forums have been getting PSRAM errors on their new units, so I'm suspecting it's a bad batch or something.  Be sure to get a good working unit if you decide to stick with the SCDS.

which version do you have?

I have the NEO version TTDS and its quite a good quality build.. the casing is as equal to the old style R4 casing compared to the V2 R4 .... of which (the V2 R4DS )  I found to be very flimsy and feels like it would break with a lot of use in and out the ds :(

The microsd on the TTDS neo version I have ...does not stick out at all infact its very flush fitting :)

Packaging... comes in 2 versions a boxed version similar to the R4 box and package and the Blister packed version (which I got) ....which is not as practical as the boxed version e.g. ... theres no where to put the card if you want to take it our for safe keeping or to swap to another gaming card :(

Not sure which version it is - It came in the black cardboard box with a silver base, doesn't mention the neo team anywhere on it so I guess it's the other version.

Perhaps I'm being a but unfair on the build quality as I haven't put the sticker on the cart yet, which would probably make it feel a bit more robust compared to just feeling the plastic.

Anyway - I read last night that the TT is compatible with R4 save files (my current card) so for that reason alone I'll give the TT a try for the time being.

Thanks again :)

Does Corey's app which uses DLDI not work with it, or are you refering to it not having 3in1 support built in (which the SC DS One doesn't have either) ?

Just a question, I have a Supercard Rumble (Slot 2)

Will I be able to convert my save files to the TT? I'm pretty sure it's possible with the DS One.

Or should I get an R4?

you should be able to convert them with the online save convertor here :)

QuoteWill I be able to convert my save files to the TT?

theres no need to convert them my saves moved over from my SCDSONE & ez-flash 4 to the dstt with out having to do anything
so the slot 2 supercard will work....

just make sure the names match & the .sav is in lowercase

neschn

Yeah, get the DSTT if you are strapped for cash. Because its just a great simple little card. If you want tons of extras go for the Supercard or the Cyclo DS.

Now, I'm getting this in Thailand and you guys seem to treat the TT as cheaper.... but I can get them for the same price. (About $36 - 40) Should I go for the Supercard, as it has more features? I'm going to go test the interfaces at the store for sure, to see which one I like.

And which one is easier to put movies and homebrew on?

Thanks JMR for the info on the TT. Can I do the same with the DSONE?
