Xeno Top Gear - Worth it?

I'm starting to look into modding my 360 to play, "backup," games. I just stumbled upon this:

http://www.kickgaming.com/xeno-gear-xbox360-green-p-292.html - The Xeno Top Gear

From what I understand you use this to flash your disc drive so you can start playing some backups. I have a few questions though before I make a purchase. Firstly, I have a Hitachi drive, are there any worthwhile firmware upgrades for this drive? To be more precise, one's that can't be detected by Microsoft ending up with my getting a permanent ban. Secondly, is there any specific type of disc I need to have for the backups? I know the gamecube is pretty picky about that type of stuff. Finally, anybody have any experience with this type of product? Is it easy to install? Anyways, that's basically all I wanted to know. Thanks in advance :)

Nearly all of my songs are made with Fruity Loops, except for one where I used Reason. I recommend looking at my ambient stuff, and staying away from old songs, which are pretty crappy.

you DO KNOW DON'T you that you still have to take your ROM DRIVE outta the 360 for the first time which will invalidate your warrenty to connect the cables up! :)

re detectable ....afaik the Xeno Top Gear is switchable anyway you can turn it on and off :)

brujagio

Yeah, I know that :P I'm not sure I understand what you mean when you can turn it on and off though. Does that mean that I can switch between the hacked and original firmware?

No, no it doesn't do that. All it does is allow you to update the hacked firmware without taking the 360 apart again. It also allows you to access the data on your 360 hdd by connecting it to the PC.

Still sounds neat, but I'm still wondering: what's the odds of getting banned from live :S ?
