Hi gyus.. good news.. Sigstair who is haking the WIFI in DS.. started today a new project..

DS TUNNELING

Quoteello, and welcome to my new project page! dstunnel will be an application that will allow you to connect multiple DSes over the internet to play multiplayer games, provided each player has a compatible wifi card and drivers. (Presently only the RAlink RT2560 cards are supported, via firefly's driver - More cards are planned to be supported eventually, though!) The project is planned to go into beta in about a week, perhaps less, and my 9 lucky beta testers will have the priviledge of playing normal DS multiplayer games over the internet! (Of course, I'm sure it won't work initially, so they'll also get to have lots of fun testing it when it *doesn't* work, too :)
All fun aside, watch this space for more details on how the program is shaping up, and when it'll be released to the public.

it will be amazing we will can play any multiplayer game via internet =]

Well, I wouldn't be too excited. Wireless LAN games aren't going to play to well over the internet since they are optimized to have pings of 20-50ms where as over the internet you'll probably be getting 150-350ms.

wifi games keep going at larger distances with out too many probs where the ping must b getting pretty high.
I play games from the uk over the net with people from uk, france, finland etc with pings between 40-120 all the time (im on a wifi router also). At them speeds it shud b fine - altho i guess tunneling wud raise that ping some what?
isit DS-play.com for live chat, friend code exchange, tournaments and forums on all wifi enabled games.

he has already addressed questions of ping in his forums because many people have raised the same concerns. paraphrasing, he basically said he doubts it will be an issue as he knows a bunch of ways to do it. there may be a slight increase, but i dont believe it will be a major issue (unless you are someone that ALREADY has ping issues, of course).

there are major tunneling interfaces for ps1/2/xbox and GC, and if they run fine, i imagine there is plenty of reason to believe this will as well.
