Is there a keystroke to boot slot 2 as gba to play gba games (not talking about superkey function)? If so what is it.

thanks in advance,

jmr

i dont think theres a key combo to boot gba mode from the scdsone menu
are you trying to boot from the scdsone menu to a original gba game?? or the gba mode in a slot2 cart??

you could use something like gbaswitch.nds which boots gba mode from a slot1 cart

I am trying to boot a gba game that is in the slot 2 without having to remove the scds1. I guess i am not actually trying to boot it, but at least get to the original ds menu where you can choose slot 1 or slot 2. I guess my question was off a little. It should be, "is there a keystroke to boot directly to the original ds menu?"

jmr's post should do it, I think I got that app, you just run it from your SCDSOne and it reboots to gba mode and loads the gba game in slot2

yes, gbaswitch works like a charm. I wasn't sure if there was just a keystroke to get the same effect.

Ah, I see.

I remember old flashme had this when I had an SC-CF, but I upgraded to a DSOne and updated the flashme to allow me to restore from a bricker just in case and now holding select when powering on no longer boots to gba mode, I don't know if it's the way the slot 1 cards work but I do miss it too!

If you want to get to Pictochat or the DS settings without removing anything, try the firmware.nds file which you can find on the GBAdev forums.  Search for the keyword "firmware" posted by "olimar" and you should be able to find it.  I know this isn't what you were asking about, as you probably can't boot from the GBA slot from that screen, but I thought you'd be interested.

Rename Gbaswitch.nds to SUPERKEY.NDS and overwrite SUPERKEY.NDS in scshell folder, then pressing L+B launches GBA.

That is an excellent and sneaky idea!

Never thought of that - nice one, hey I could put any file as SUPERKEY.NDS

If you sometime would want to use the real SUPERKEY.NDS then just copy it to root or to another folder.

I actually did that so my daughter can get to her SCSD when she is using my ds. It is way easier (at the time she was 8 ) for her to get to it as the menus are a pain in the rear (along with not having the language changed to chinese, etc...)

@dan, thanks for the input on that, though it does not help me atm, but, it may help the next guy who is reading this!

?

So you use the SCSD for DS stuff too ?

Please take no offense to this, but what else do you use the SC SD for (besides NESDS, and other homebrew)? The GBA IMO, sucks. My daughter uses a SCSD on her dsphat (flashme v8) with a 2gig SD card in it. When we purchased the SCSD, there were not any slot1 solutions. Why get rid of what works. TBH i am confused with your question.
