Hi.

Got a EZFlash V for my DS a couple of days ago. Installed the moonshl that I was told to, and after that I put in some games in the root. Tried some of them, and I found that only 1 out of all the ones that I tried worked. The rest just crashes after about 5-10 minutes in to the game (if even that) and I have no Idea what to do about it. Does anyone know?   :-[

I tried installing another moonshl to see if there was some problem with it, but still same problem. I tried installing another version of the game that I had tried and which had crashed, but same thing happened again.
I am at a loss of what to do, so I am asking you, please, if you know something that can help, please help me to sort this out.   :'(

PS Sometimes it sayes that the gamecard has been removed, but its still in place. And I am not the only one to have had these kind of problems. DS.

Well I posted this up in the DX forums for a totally unrelated issue, but I think it still applies in your situation:

Basically I had a few issues with my EZ Flash Vs too, and I looked through the forums, and these suggestions pretty much fixed everything, except one of my carts.

1. Format to FAT
2. Reformat the memory card.
3. Use the R method to "reupgrade" your cart to 1.70
4. Stick with 1.70 not the BETA firmware
5. Clean the contacts
6. Clean your DS slot (blowing in it I guess?)

The one I found most successful is upgrading to 1.70 using the EZ5upldr.bin file.

Good luck!

First of all, make sure your micro SD (not SDHC) card is 2GB or less.  Format the card in FAT only.
Moonshell is a multimedia player.
If your cart did not come with 1.70 firmware, you will need to update the loader. http://www.ezflash.cn/zip/ez5kernel080202.zip Unzip all of the files to your micro SD.
You should see on your card a Moonshl folder, ez5sys.bin, EZ5upldr.bin and a sample.ini.  All of these are necessary for the cart to work properly the first time. After you update the loader, you can delete the EZ5upldr.bin.
Read the instructions here to make sure you updated the loader correctly:
http://ezflash.sosuke.com/wiki/index.php?title=EZFlash_V_quickstart_guide

    *  Download the latest version of the Loader (kernel zip file)
    * Unzip content to the root of your MicroSD card.
    * Insert your MicroSD into your EZ-V
    * Insert your EZ-V into your DS and turn it on
    * Touch the health screen warning
    * In the DS Main Menu, while holding down R, launch the EZ-V
    * When the EZ-V splash screen appears, press R again to update the Loader
    * Wait until it finishes updating then press A to continue.
    * Your Loader is now updated

After updating, you can delete "ez5upldr.bin" from your MicroSD

Make sure your roms are not in the moonshl folder. They can go in a folder called rom on the root of the micro sd or just loose on the root of the micro sd.
Next step is to update the soft resetsp.bin file.
  Download this: http://www.4shared.com/file/41057500/203bf219/resetsp_1205735247.html
and copy it into the moonshl folder. Windows will ask you if you want to replace the older resetsp.bin, say yes.
Some roms will not play properly if you have soft reset on.
I love the beta 1.72, it corrected all my save problems. Be sure to join the forum, you will learn a lot there. http://ezflash.sosuke.com/index.php
Hope this helps a little...

Hi :D

Thanks for the tips, both of ya :D

Im gonna try it and then get back to ya when I know if it worked or not.
I can tell ya right now that the first game I tried didnt work, but then again, there might be something wrong with that one, so Im gonna see if I can find the same game but from somewhere else, and see if that works instead.
As for the micro SD card its 2gb :D I was told not to buy anything bigger than that :D

Be back in a bit :D

Cheers!

Ok so I tested it.... its still crashing  :'(

I have no idea what to do about it. Im starting to feel rather helpless... I really wanna be able to play games  :-[

Any other ideas?
When I say crash, I mean that Im playing a game, when everything freezes and then nothing. Have to turn it off and then restart it. And this is repeated over, and over again. Feels like Im about to chuck it out a window, or get a refund. Problem is that the guy I bought it from is out of the country until sometime in may, so I felt like trying everything I could in the meantime.

Please, if anyone might know whats wrong, please help me in any way possible (perhaps not sugesting chucking it out the window  ;))

Cheers!

wait a minute... might be working, might not be working... had another go, and changed some things around, and now atleast 1 game seems to be working. Im not getting my hopes up just yet, but if it is working, then I am beyond happy.

thanks for the advice everyone  :D

can you not triple or even double post.....
if you need to add something just edit your last post

Where did you get the microSD? Make sure your card isn't fake, especially if it was from eBay. Try filling the card up to a full 2GB and reading it back on your PC to make sure you get no errors and it's not super-slow. Either way try a different mSD if you have access to one.
