This tool will allow you to inject any N64, SNES, NES, or TurboGraphix16 VC game and then install that game as a channel on your Wii. So take for example, people are taking the rom for the SNES game Chrono Trigger that has not been released on the Wii's VC system and injecting that rom into a VC game that was released. This replaces the VC game with the Chrono Trigger game and makes use of the VC's built in SNES emulator! Only draw back so far is that the channel will still show the name and picture of the VC game you injected your own rom with. For example if you inject Chrono Trigger into say Donkey Kong Country 3, the VC channel will say and show Donkey Kong Country 3, but once you start it the game will be Chrono Trigger. People are working on making it where we will be able to use our own names and pics, but for now we will have to deal with this. Like any other channel, app, or game, you can uninstall this with the Wad Unistaller posted in this forum and it will erase all traces of the wad ever being installed.

Sounds very much like how people managed to inject arbitrary N64 games to work with the emulator Nintendo used to let you play Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask on the Gamecube, and how Popstation on the PSP works.  Cool news.

This is insane stuff!  But I don't have any VC rom to inject with. :-[

This is still very cool stuff.  I wonder how the performance of these Ninty emulators are.  Is it perfect emulation?

I've been following group of people trying to inject ROMs and having very bad luck particularly with N64 games. Compatibility is not high OR we don't know how to inject properly yet.

You can go here to see a list of what games work when injected and what games do not: http://wiihack.cjb.net/

Hi

I've heard reports that people have been banned from using Nintendo Wifi for doing this... are these true, or just rumors. It wasn't from a very trustworthy source... (and no, I don't remember where I read this)

I have not heard of any consoles being banned from the Ninty WFC.  I'd think it would be all over the news if they started doing that.  Although it's time to expect that to happen.

And again the Twilight hack can not be patched or blocked with IOS37. Look at XboX 1, you can still to this day, 5yrs later use the exploit found in James Bond 007: Agent under Fire to hack the XboX 1, it didn't/couldn't get blocked.

Lets also focus on the fact that the Trucha disk ONLY allows for homebrew to be played on the Wii, not copied games like the dvd drive mod chips do. Nintendo has more to worry about with the DvD drive chips because they are being used to pirate games, not Trucha's disc. True the Twilight hack now means they will loose money on VC games, but that is easily detectable and they can easily block people from using the Online functions and/or prosecute those they catch stealing from the online store. Bottom line, mod chips cost developers money, Trucha does not, Nintendo has to be more worried about mod chips. And lets not blow it too far out of perspective, the amount of modders of Wii is probably somewhere in the range of less then 3% of the total amount of the MILLIONS of Wii's that have been sold. Modders are more of an annoyance to Nintendo then a problem unlike piracy is for PC games.

History has shown that once a console is hacked, there is no reversing it and putting the cat back in the bag.

Also lets get back on track and keep this thread about Injectuwad v2.2. If you guys want to continue this conversation start a new thread with that as the title.

The WAD of SSBros that is going around appears to be an injected one as the channel indicates Sin & Punishment.
