I just brought a super card light..  And I downloaded and followed the instructions on this site..
www.consoleup.com

Connect the SD/TF card to PC with the card reader, then, go to the “/SYSTEM” directory on the disk.
   A) Loading the game kernel: Copy the “_DS_MENU.DAT” at the directory of the simplified game kernel/ traditional game kernel to the root directory of SD/TF card.
   B) Loading the media kernel: Copy the “shell” folder and the “_DS_MSHL.NDS” file at the “moonshell” directory to the root directory of SD/TF card.
   C) Load the DIY interface: Copy all the folders “_system_” to the root directory of the SD/TF card.

Converted Professor Leighton, game shows up loads counts to 3000 and crashes

Nothing select anything else just crashes

Doing the LR it says

Test SD/MMC
SD/MMC ok
not find test file

sc version 1.84 any help or working dowload link would be appreciated as i'm closing to throwing it through the window

Somehow your instructions are a combination of the slot-2 Supercard and slot-1 Supercard DS setup instructions.  Very interesting, though incorrect information.  Here's what you need to do:

1.  Format your card in FAT/FAT16 format, not FAT32 or NTFS.  This will erase your card, so backup your contents if needed.
2.  Download and install the latest patching software from http://eng.supercard.cn/soft_scl.htm
3.  Patch the game with the software, making sure the output folder is NOT set directly to the microSD card, as this is known to cause problems.
4.  Manually copy the patched file from your output folder to your card.
5.  Bootup the Supercard Lite in DS mode and launch the game.  At this point, it should work.

Let us know if this procedure doesn't work for you so we can further troubleshoot the problem.  My guess is that either your card was formatted in FAT32 or you were using the wrong patcher software (either Supercard type or software version).

Shinobi, Welcome to scdev!

First thing you will want to do is to format your MicroSD card to FAT(FAT16) not FAT32.

Get the latest firmware for your sclite (is it rumble or not, as it matters so you need to get the right one)
http://eng.supercard.cn/soft_scl.htm

ok clear off your sd card and put on the 'micro_eng_185.bin' file and run your ds to upgrade to the latest firmware.

Now to play roms you need to use the rommaker software called 'SC MicroSD v2.66' which can be found on the same page. You want to make sure with this you also have the correct software for the type of SC card you have as it makes a difference. Install this and run it. (i know you have already done this but i want to make sure you have the correct software for your SC product as well as the latest.

Make sure you get a game to work before using moonshell. Also you do not want to use moonshell to try and run games.

After you get it all go to the homebrew section on this site and look at the sticky and grab one of the premade moonshell dl's for the sclite and copy onto the root of your sd card.

Let us know how it works out for you.

Edit: double the help! :D

Thanks Dante and Kelly appreciate it..

I installed the 'micro_eng_185.bin' file updated straight away, I tried the Professor Leighton Rom it counted all the way up I was getting excited, then the white screen..

I believe this was because I used that DS Trimmer, so I downloaded the one Onekelly said..

Would Snes/NES and Homebrew games such as Scumm just work as well I would I need to install extra's..

One more noob question what is this moonshine(I hera it lays movies and music) and could you link me to a good one..

Thanks once again for the help

Homebrew is usually entirely different.  Do not patch a homebrew file with the Supercard patcher, as this will break it.  Just copy it directly to your card, making sure that if you need to place certain files in certain places that you do so.  Usually the ReadMe file will tell you what other files are needed.  For instance with NES DS, all you have to do is DLDI patch the nesDS.nds file and copy it to your card along with your *.nes games.  Launch nesDS.nds and choose the game to play.  For SNEmulDS, you have to put the SNES games in an "SNES" folder on the root of your card and you must place the "snemul.cfg" file on the root of your card.  The DLDI-patched SNEmulDS.nds file can go anywhere.

DLDI patching, if you don't know, is required for any homebrew application that requires access to the filesystem (such as loading SNES roms, playing music, etc).  It allows the developer to use generic filesystem access commands and let the DLDI patch file dictate exactly how to carry out those commands for each specific device, thus allowing the same homebrew file to work on every device now and in the future, as long as a DLDI file is developed for the device.

The slot-2 Supercards actually now have automatic DLDI patching if you choose to use it.  You can download the 1.84 firmware download to get the DLDI.scp file, which you copy to the root of your card, but this is known to be buggy for certain applications.  I therefore recommend you use Barni's Supercard Rumble DLDI file (I know you don't have a Rumble but it still works), renamed to DLDI.scp and placed on the root of your card.  If you choose to manually DLDI patch instead, the recommended method is with the DLDIrc program, which is a stickied topic in the Homebrew forum.

Moonshell is a media player that can do a variety of things.  For more info on that, view the complete Moonshell guide in the FAQ forum.

On a completely off-topic side note, you're not the first person to think my name was Dante or Danthe instead of DanTheMan.  Perhaps I should use capitalization in my usernames...

As above did you DLDI patch??

you no doubt need to patch the neods rom with the sclt.dldi :)

did you patch the GB color emulator with sclt.dldi ??

try manually patching them ...

you may also need a specific SLOT 2 version of NEODS try this version here :)

copy both the emulator and the dldi file to the root of your mem card :)

kkan is correct. If NeoDS is working on your friends R4 then it was probably DLDI patched specifically to run on R4 only.  If you download a program called DLDIrc and patch NeoDS.nds for use with Supercard lite then it should work fine.

Thanks I'm giving those 2 downloads a try now..  I  previouslyI just dragged the files in.. As on the Psp they just worked, so I just assumed it would be the same..  I installed the didi patch and it's now picking up Samurai Showdown 2 tried it and it works like a dream thanks both for the help..  I wish I asked on here last night ;D

Also on the box it says the SD light plays GBA games I take it's not as simple as dragging the roms is it :(

If I wanted to get the Nes emulator working as well would I need the Didi patch, be gratefull if either of you could link it :smitten:

You have to patch GBA and DS ROMs with the Supercard lite patch software. Most but not all GBA games work with slot 2 Supercards.

Yes, most homebrew will require the DLDI patch. Using DLDIrc makes the process easy for slot 2 Supercard users.
