Greetings all,

I have a DS (silver, one of the first released) and I have been able to flash it using wifime. I also purchased a supercard SD and have upgraded it to v1.52 - here are where my questions start:

1. I just saw where a new flashme was released that is compatible with Mario Kart and it will not brick your DS. Can I install that using wifime or by putting a file on my supercard? Or, do I have to use the flashme method of touching the contacts, etc?

2. I know you have to patch clean dumps of DS Roms so they are compatible with the supercard, but how can one dump their own DS roms? Or, is that just not possible and you have to find them elsewhere?

3. What is the biggest SD card you can use with the supercard?

4. Can you mix GBA roms and DS roms on the same supercard? If so, do the GBA roms have to be patched also?

5. I bought Madden 2006 on a DS card because I understood it to be the biggest available in terms of memory for compatibility with patched roms, is this correct?

If someone could help me out, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,

R

Welcome to the site.

1: Must bridge contacts in order to flash me

2: We cant dump our own games yet

3: I think 2 gig is the limit since it is the limit of the Fat16 file system

4: You can mix and yes GBA game must be patched also

5: It is one of the bigger ones, but you can now save directly to your SD card too.

Wait.  What about NDS ROM Dumper from SMT?  I can't get it to work, though.  I always get "cannot find secure area."  In any case, some people have said that it does work.

It might work with other flashcards, it does not yet currently work with super card. The source code to write data directly to the CF/SD card is out and has been for a little while and many have been adding it to their software, but not everyone yet. It's very likely a new version will be released eventually wit hsuper card support, or someone else could release a similar program as well. It's probably only a matter of time.

Don't know this program (but google said it need the GBAMP), but we just have to wait until someone write a dumper which use the source of SD/CF (to write the dump on the card).

By the way, it's a program of DarkFader, so personnally I wouldn't like to try it ^^; (don't want something to be bricked)

Well, I'm not even getting to the point of switching out a flashcard for the GBAMP.  The failure occurs as soon as I start the dumper program.  In any case, it does seem possible to dump ROMs, but not with the Supercard.
