Not a chance of finding a DS in my area with old firmware..

I live in Northern NJ (USA) and took a run to various places to grab ahold of a DS that actually works with the Superpass. Not one of the 6 locations I hit had a comaptible DS. I tested and tested, and all were white screen. The serials started with NU416*** and NU417***. I am starting to believe that any DS with NU41** has the new firmware. All of the units I tested BTW are grey models, without Metroid demo included. Just a little info, although I'm sure most people know this jazz already.

To my knowledge any colored DS with serial number 418** or higher has the new firmware. My DS is silver and has a serial number that starts with 416** and it works with the Superpass just fine.

Lucky you. I tested a half dozen DS consoles (Grey) with 416** and not a single one worked with the Superpass. Starting to think it is going to be harder than expected to track firmware by serial number.

I would reccomed going to gamestop or whatever is in your area and look for a used DS with the old firmware.

Without using a Passme or having loaded Flashme onto the DS, you will only get white screens with the SC, as you're trying to load unsigned code.

Any and all silver / grey DS's should work with the SC so long as one of those conditions are met.

Are you trying this in-store with a Passme?

I can confirm that this is NOT the case. There are newer silver DS units (USA) that have the new firmware.

And, he said in the very first post that he was testing with a superpass (which is a passme)

mine is a "NEF 400xxxx" - someone knows about this?
is there any changse of gettng it work beside a passme2?

Since I am so eager to have a brand new unit, I ordered a Pre-modded Electric Blue DS from Aheadgames.com. This was BEFORE I found some pretty nasty comments about the company on reseller ratings and some other forums. Well, hopefully all will turn out ok and the unit gets shipped to me. If not, I suppose I'll have to issue a chargeback, which fortunately in my case will be quite easy since I am good friends with the manager of the bank that issued my card. Only time will tell...and I'll follow up in this thread about what happens.

zektor- aheadgames.com ripped me off too... but luckily my CC let me do a chargeback so I'm not out anything. I'm trying to contact the company, but no luck so far. Next step is the ohio police. Check out Here for their info...

Kicktrading.ca seems to be a reputable site though, they already shipped my order, but you've gotta flash it yourself.

Yeah, no reply still (although it's the weekend) but I don't think I am going to get any kind of reply from Aheadgames. If I do, and receive my goods, I will think differently of them.

If I do have to do the chargeback, it'll take 2 weeks...2 weeks longer I'll have to wait to get my DS. Ugh. I will take your advice on Kicktrading however...thanks.

Just another followup on this:

I contacted The Ohio Police Fraud Division today. It was after 5pm, so I didn't get the detective, but I did leave him a message with what had happened with Aheadgames and gave him the contact info on the Cincinnati BBB site (thanks for that info btw!) so I will be waiting for a phone call from them. Thursday is my next day off and when I will go to the bank for the chargeback. But, I will not stop there...I hate frauds with a passion.

Just a heads up to all looking for a Supercard. Do NOT order form Aheadgames.com. They list the Supercard for sale, but you will get nothing.
