.....which software i have in my sons' Supercard before installing the latest, or can i just go ahead and install??
I ask because i have read that it needs to be done incrementally(one version at a time) or is this only for subsequent updates?
If so, how does one gauge what software one has??
I intend playing with all of this over the weekend, hoping the wife takes the kidz out somewhere....feeling a little nervous re. whether we have compatable DS's or not \ fiddling with files etc....
Having said that, i have read up , asked questions(big, big props to Cory who certainly seems like a fine human being indeed and answered all my questions with aplomb...not to say other folks arent\werent helpful....we all know who the helpful ones are Versus those who seem to have an underlying attitude) and feel i have the KNOWLEDGE !!
Enough waffling....
Thanks
Oh, and i wont sign off....otherwise M2t(sorry, cant recall your exact name..) might not answer...and he \she seems like a good chap too     !!

The firmware on the DS has to be installed incrementally unless you can find a full dump (which I don't think there is one of 1.53 yet)

To find out what version of firmware you have, hold L and R while booting booting into GBA mode (or just L and R if you are using it on a GBA)

It should boot into supercard test mode. Just hit the A button a couple times till it shows what version you're on.
