i dont have a wireless router , i have a usb dongle d-link dlw-122b1 ...can i connect with my ds?

probly not, i gave it a try with a wireless(dlink) one awhile back and it didnt, plus you need that software to run on the pc unless your uber good at coding your own tunneling software, btw wtf was nintendo thinking paying gamspy to run there mario kart network, lazy bastards, i gotta turn off my firewall everytime(pg2 as it sees gamespy as a threat)

You don't need any software on pc, you don't even need a pc. I connected with a adsl modem with wifi capability.

yeh i connect to mariokart with a cable broadband and a cheap sumvision sub dongle,no software needed.

Beware!! I bought the damn device and there's a BIIIIGGG bug in it, cause it won't work with me and many others. When the USB adapter is plugged in it says after a while to plug it in (?)...while it IS in there. After that you get an error message. Also with it I, and many others, get an "Internet Connection Sharing" error.

So it's up to now complete useless for me. Mind you, you got a big chance it will work for you. Just be sure you can return it to the store if it doesn't.

The dwl-g122b1 dongle is compatible with the ds but is getting it to work
i have both thease dongles 122b1 and g122b1 the first one is not compatible

have not had one problem with it since i bought it. Granted its true i tried installing it on my friends pc and it wouldnt take, but i figured out what was wrong it seems on his comp he wasnt port forwarded/dmz host setup/wan ip connect enabled. Now i know these are genric terms and each router is diff but we both have linksys routers, and when i got in a setup it properly it seemed to work. As for the usb device not connected, probly faullty or old usb port. I had a port that only worked with my usb camera and wouldnt work for mp3 player, granted not related but a example of faulty usb ports. Also for thous that have symantec antivirus corp 10 or higher i had to turn off mine before it would install, and microcrap antispyware said someone tried hacking my winsock or something when i tried isntalling it lol
