Hello, I was reading through natrium42's website and with retards to his passme2, it looks rather complicated having to program the hardware. I was wondering if anybody has Flashed their DS with new firmware and is willing to share their experience?

It's not too hard to reprogram a supercard/passme to passme 2. You just need to make or acquire a cheaptag (which isn't too hard as long as you've had a little practice with a soldering iron)

If that worries you too much it's easy to purchase an already programmed passme 2.

It does worry me a bit haha

The thing I was wondering though is that the pre-programmed ones require call information and i'm not too certain about how to obtain those for AUS carts. All the carts listed on natrium42's website are US, EUR or JPN and i'm unsure of how to go about it all.

I flashed a new firmware (Teal) DS for a friend the other day to test my passme2. Worked fine. It is a little more detailed than the ordinary flashing, but with pepsiman's tool it worked out just fine. As it stands now, passme2 will allow the flashing of any DS out there.

I have a superpass also, and gave it a thought of reprogramming. But, I opted to spend the $28 and not worry about it myself. :)

Can you show me where you got your passme2? Also you say it can flash any DS out there, is this with the same passme2, regardless of what game it's programmed for?

Yeah, I purchased it from Natrium (www.natrium42.com) . I purchased a passme2 programmed for the metroid demo, which is what I have. So, just buy a passme2 programmed for the game you have, and then you can use it in conjunction with that said game to flash any firmware DS. It is really not difficult. Think of it this way. It is like the original passme in a way. The original allowed any NDS cart to be inserted. Well, this one will only allow the title that it was programmed for to be inserted. That is really it man. You do have to do some quick on/off stuff with the DS if you will be using a SC to attempt the flash, but like I said...very easy.

Yep I understand all that, the only problem is that I don't have any USA games. The only games I have are AUS. It is said on the natrium42 website that if you send the call information, he is able to program it for you however for me to get that call information, I need a flash cart that does not have a menu loader. Is this correct? And if so, would there be a way to Flash the DS?

Not sure. I would make a guess that the AUS version of the metroid demo would work, but don't quote me on that. If you cannot get the call info, you may have to hit up ebay and get a USA metroid demo cart (like $5), but perhaps you should have a talk with someone at gbadev.org regarding this. When you are all set, this tutorial helped me alot:

You know... the easiest way to tell the region of the carts is to look on a game itself.

The last 3 letters tell you the region. I have a U cart that's USA and a japanese cart that's JPN. That should tell you if your game is USA or EUR and what you need your passme programmed for.
