Can you use saves from previous versions of the SD software with the latest version? In other words i have a few save files for castlevania on version 2.43, so if i patch a fresh image of the rom with the latest software 2.44 will my old save work with this version?

i believe the answer you are looknig for is yes, as sav file is just a sav file renamed to be tha same as your rom, the only thing being patched is the game itself, not the sav file.

lettuce, if you rename the old save file to the same name as the new one and replace the new one that is generated when you re-patch the ROM then the old save file will work fine.
