Hello

Are there any RTC patches for emerald yet?

Mike

OK more problems i cant save! rts isn't working very well at all but thats not the big problem, the normal in game save doesnt work. ill take you through what i do

1. Start Game
2. Get to a point where i can save
3. Save
4. Press L+R+A+SELECT to save
5. Switch off GBA
6. Switch it back on
7. Open Emerald
8. Get the message "The save file has been erased due to its corruption or damage"

is there any way around this? at a pinch i would settle for the rts but like i say its patchy and doesnt always work. i want to use the sav file in VBA to trade so this is really becoming an issue.

is there away of importing the SC rts files into VBA? if it can be done that might help

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

Michael

Critical_Impact

I used an RTC ips patch with it, it still comes up with the corrupted error but i can still load the game.

lostmike

cheers for that any chance you could give me a link to where you got ur rtc patch from? or better yet email it. i can also do msn if you have that.

only having use of public internet i find many pages restricted, and some including the official SC site dont load at all.

Again any help would be appreciated

there is an ips save fix over at advanscene (US version) in with the trm release info (dont know if it works, and I think you need the correct crc rom for it to work right)
http://retrocovers.com/advanscene/html/Releases/dbreleases.php?id=1965

and a jpn fix
http://retrocovers.com/advanscene/html/Releases/dbreleases.php?id=1631

try gbata on it for the RTC patch though....
http://www.gbadat.altervista.org/gbata.htm

lostmike

no none of them work sadly and gbata only fixes ruby and sapphire

didn't try the jpn one

do you know where i could get the correct crc rom from?

thanks for your help

Koji

You can't save normally with emerald. You have to use a real time save.

I tried hacking my own RTC patch... (by copying the altered data from ruby) but it didn't work. It did, however, remove the "can't save" warning. If you want I can send you the patch for that at least. (if I can find where I put it)

karurosu

go to: http://bubbz.pocketheaven.com/?system=gba&section=patch
Download the fluke patches, I think they also work on emerald and the fire/leaf versions that should remove the corrupt save screens, enable savers, and fix the RTC.

lostmike

the fluke saves dont work ive tried

ill try and find a copy of emerald from somewhere else and maybe try them again

Thanks anyway karurosu

I would like to try your patch koji if you can find it

i have had a thought of what might work

is there a way of importing RTS into VBA? the RTS is very patchy often it will load a black screen with only people on it until i can find a door into another room when it loads the background so if there is a way of fixing this as well that would be helpful.

Thanks
Mike

jmr

what i do when it loads a black screen it press start then A then the screen comes back on im 32 hours into emerald & loving it

lostmike

yeah that solves that problem thanks jmr.

but i would still like to be able to switch between playing on GBA to PC and back again. also RTC would be cool.

during research i have found this solution for the save problem:

Quote1.- First of all, start a game in Pokemon Emerald, and save your progress. (it doesn't matter where)

2.- Then, go to the card menu and choose to "Back Saver"

3.- Now you can conect your flash card to the PC to load more games or transfer files.

4.- Connect you card to your GBA/DS, and when you load Pokemon you'll get a message saying that the save was deleted due to corruption or damage.

5.- Start a new game and save at the beginning.

6.- Exit the game, go to the SAVEFILE folder and select your backup save. Select "OP Saver", but don't select the game, instead choose "Update Saver"

7.- Now open the game and your save should work just fine.

(MAKE SURE THAT YOU ALWAYS BACKUP YOR SAVE AFTER YOU FINISH PLAYING)

but thats for use on the Extreme Flash Advance card which has a built in RTC. would i be able to do any of this with SC?
