How do I make my Supercard Mini SD Passme 2-Z compatible?

I have a Passme 2-Z and my Supercard won't boot up when it is in there.  I know that for EZ Flash 3 I need to write something to my SRAM, a sav file that fits with the model of Passme I have.  But for this Supercard, where do I put the .sav file to make it Passme 2-Z compatible?

BTW for now I get two white screens...

Does the supercard play GBA games in GBA mode?  Did you upgrade the supercard firmware?

PharaohsVizier

Yes it play GBA games in GBA mode, and it has the latest firmware, BTW it is a Supercard Mini SD, maybe that helps?  I was using it fine on my flashme'd DS, but I want to play it on my lite now, and I haven't gotten my friend to flash it for me yet

You're lucky you've got me! I had to figure it out all on my own!
But since I did, and I know what a pain it is, let me write you your own personal walkthrough.

Step 1: To use the passme 2-z, look on the little box it came in and find the 4 digit code written there. Ex. AP2E (my code). That code identifies what game card was used to make your particular passme.
NOTE: If you do not have the box, be prepared for pain, because I do not know of another way to retrieve the number.

Step 2: Go to http://darkfader.net/ds/games/ and find your code listed in the Passme SRAM column, on the far right. Download the file there.
To find it faster, while on the page, click Edit and then Find on this page, and type in the code in the dialogue box provided.

Step 3: Flash said file to your flash cart. Start your flash cart up in GBA mode.
NOTE: You cannot start the flash cart in GBA mode while your Passme 2-z is inserted fully in slot 1 of your DS. After you flash the file to your cart, just make sure the Passme 2-z is not fully inserted when you power the DS on. You must insert it again after you have reached the "Game Boy" splash screen after selecting "start GBA game" from the DS's main menu. Then you may select the file.

Step 4: Execute the file in question.

Step 5: Quickly power down your DS and power up again, and you will be taken to the flash cart in DS mode, finally.
NOTE: In the unlikely event that it doesn't work, start again from step 4, but this time hold A,B,X, and Y as you execute step 5.

There, you now have acces to DS mode with your supercard. Congratulations. I recommend next that you flash your DS's hardware with flashme, because with the passme 2-z, every time you wish to launch the supercard in DS mode, you have to go through steps 4 and 5 to do it. And that is a pain.   The flashme is a program that replaces the DS's internal programming, allowing you to bypass the security system within the handheld so that you can run homebrew and other unsigned code in DS mode. if you use DS lite, and if you accidentally short the wrong contact (easily done) while nervously waiting for flashme to reprogram your DS, the system will be shut off, and you will not be able to start it up again, because the programming inside of it will be corrupted. Use caution!

Glad to help! :D

Isn't the Mini SD able to keep the SRAM inside the card, allowing it to not do Step 4 and 5 over and over?

Thundrestrike

not so sure, because I dont have a mini-sd 8)

did the guide help you?  :D

yea, just like the last time :)

You gave me the same guide for my EZ Flash 3, either that or someone copied u.. lol

Thundrestrike

well actually,

i had the same problem, so i asked a guy who figured it out, who probably stole that guide from somebody else, and then I borrowed it from his pm to use to help you

so who knows who actually wrote that? :D

either way, as long as it helps people, its still useful :D

You probably shouldn't have phrased it like this, if you actually just copied someone else's instructions.  I wouldn't have said anything, but several times I've seen people retype what I've told them (not at scdev.org) and act like it was their own "hard work" that led them to those conclusions.  Anyway, not trying to be a jerk, just dont' want whoever helped you out to feel cheated.

it's ok.  heh.. by the way, your avatar is super funny.  I did what you said (googled for "fat cat") and sure enough, there it was. hehe. been using it on msn. :)

[edit] when you said "forgot to take that part out", do you mean that part was in the post by the person who helped you out?  if so, then now I know why it was so familiar!  that was something I helped that guy out with, and then he posted that he had done all the "hard work" of figuring it out! hahaha.. ok.. now i know why it looked so familiar.
