....for people like me who don't have a windows pc...
i'm using a mac with virtualpc and is soooo slow  :(  :(

would be a nice idea to create a patcher that could run directly from the supercard like an homebrew..

you put a clean dump un the sd-cf=> run the patcher with the ds like an homebrew=>play the patched rom  :D

hope i explained the thing like it is in my mind..

do you think that it can be possible?
do you think it would be a good idea?

Lol, the title of your topic should be changed to "MACS are a pain" lol. Never heard that idea pitched here before but it doesn't sound so bad, especially for the Mac users.

Robotochan

Or a Java based patcher, that'd work on Macs, Linux and PCs :) I'd personally like to see the patcher getting a make over with drag and drop functions

DA MAC RULES!

also a java patcher would be cool  :D

do you know where i could send an email to ask a DS patcher or a java (python is also good and multiplatform) version? maybe they didin't had this idea :)

Devil_Spawn

surely a patcher on the ds would be about 20 times slower again, the cpu's arent that good, and i havent seen any fast fat libs yet

oook.. but a java version would so complicated to code for the romman and the orthers?

i really hope they didn't use visual basic

There are tons of problems with the patching software (like not remembering settings from ROM to ROM) and the interface could seriously do with a ton of minor fixes.  Still, it works more or less. :)

A DOS tool would be useful - DosBox runs everywhere and would probably be even faster.

Oh well, being the minority sucks sometimes. I'm using CrossOver Office to run the patcher in my Linux box and it works pretty OK.

Java would be the way to go if Romman and his crew is keen to cater for the minority in expense of speed for the majority, but I doubt that.

Maybe if he open source the patcher we can all work on a POSIX compliant port and that would be uber cool. At least this would relief the coding part  of a second patcher from his team :)
