Couple of questions about buying an NDSL

Hi
Me and some friends are planning on buying a ds lite, but I'm not sure about a couple of things, I hope someone has some experience in this:

The DSL costs around $200-$210 here in Hungary, but I can see a lot of stores on the net offering them for as low as $129, my question is,
if I order the DSLite from abroad, what kind of warranty do I get? I have to send the unit back to the foreign country on my own charges if something goes wrong? I'm sure there isn't any official Nintendo store, or anything like that in this country. Do I even get warranty?
Is there some catch in these so low offers? I can't imagine why a store would offer it at such a low price, or is this around the normal price, and it's overcharged this much here?
Could anyone recommend me a good shop, preferably close to Hungary?

This may sound like a total bullshit question, but I want to make sure, do I have to pay my own country's tax?
Sounds like bs to me, but I asked some friends, and some said that if I order something from a foreign country the local tax will get applied, (which is 20% here btw) and some said there will be no additional charges.

My other question is about flashing and playing homebrew on the DS.
I read a lot of posts and topics, about flashkits, and I have two questions:

What is the biggest rom size in nds? I googled it and found a site saying that according to an announcement by Nintendo the biggest rom will be 1 Gbit. Is this correct/did this change?
Do I understand it correctly, that I "only" have to flash my DS with the FlashMe firmware with a PassMe or WifiMe, and then nothing else will be required, I have to copy the stuff I want to play to my flash card, stick it into the DS and that's it? I can even throw out my PassMe if I wanted?

Thank you very much in advance, I hope someone can help.

1)  The regular price for the DS Lite in the USA is $129.

2) If you buy a US DSLite then you will have ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTEE in Hungary.  If you need customer support (broken hinge, broken screen, etc) then you will have to send your DS Lite to the USA.  Even then, I strongly doubt that you will be able to receive full service.  I'm not sure that Nintendo of America will send items overseas.  Part of the warranty service is the registering of your home address.

3) I cannot answer your question about having to pay taxes on foreign bought DSLites because:
-Every country has their own laws regarding taxation of online merchandise
-Every country has their own laws regarding taxation/duties on imported of foreign merchandise

4) The biggest rom size for NDS as far as I know is 128 MBytes  this is the same as 1 Gbit.  Most games are much smaller.

5) Once you flash your DSLite using PassMe, you don't need the PassMe anymore.  I bought a PassMe, flashed my DS then sold the PassMe.

Thank you for answering, looks like I have to buy it in Hungary then :(

I would try to find a deal on eBay.  I got a Lite with the original store receipt and mario kart for 100 feeble canadian dollars.  Box, manual, etc.  Even the extra stylus and a carrying case and screen cleaning cloth, and it was in mint condition.  No scratches or anything, basically brand-new... and you can't buy it in stores here anymore, it's sold out.

I'd say, try and find someone on ebay who lives in hungary or another european nation that's nearby and wants to part with their DSL.  You'll find the best deal there.

Yes I have thought about this, but if I do get the store receipt I still have to send back the whole pack on my own charges, if it brakes down, right?
Just checked some auctions and a lot of them has a very good price, but the shipping is around $30 on every DS :(
Well I'll keep looking maybe a better deal will pop up, thanks for the suggestion.
