To moderators: for some reason I'm not able to upload any pictures to the forum?
------------

I just went through this procedure, so I could flash my DS Lite without investing into another 'pass device'.
This is a simple and low-cost way to convert your Superpass into a Superpass2 and use it.

Parts:
-Superpass 1
-J-tag cable:
DB25 connector (I used an old serial port, but any printer cable will do)
a few bits of cable, an old floppy or IDE cable will do.
two new AA batteries and a case to connect them. (any batteries with 3.3V will do.
4.7k ohm resistor (these are like 30cents for 10) - (Devil_Spawn mentioned that any 3.3-5k ohm resistor should work)

Tools:
-PC
-Superpass2 software
-soldering iron, and solder
-leatherman or swiss army knife, or just any sharp knife or small saw

Procedure:

1. Opening the Superpass case.

Using the saw, on the leatherman(or multitool), cut a groove into the seam on the side of the Superpass. By inserting a flat head screwdriver you can pry open the case. It's hard to open, but try not to break the case as you will need it later on.
Mine ended up pretty ugly, but I was able to re-use it.

Now that you have the guts of the Superpass we can make the Jtag cable.

2. Assembling the Jtag cable.

As they say, pictures are better than a thousand words.
(I took the picture from Natrium42's site, and added the superpass connections)

I suggest soldering the cables to the Superpass first and then working your way back to the DB25 connector.
Just follow the diagram carefully and you should be ok.

Tip: on the male side of the connector there should be numbers to tell you what number each pin is.

This is what my cable looks like. It's ugly, but it did its thing.
The orange thing is actually a night light, but I used it as a battery compartment. Use what you have, I think an old 2 battery remote
would even work!

Once you have everything assembled and connected we can program the Superpass.

3. Reprogramming the Superpass.

There are two programs that you can use to program your Superpass.
impact or the Superpass2 software.
I suggest the Superpass2 software, as it's alot smaller to download! (Impact is over 900mb vs 2mb of the Superpass2 software)

Connect the whole jtag cable with batteries and Superpass to your computers parallel port.
Run the Superpass2 software.
You will notice that you have to select a port in the lower right corner. To find out which is the right one, check in your computers device manager.
(right click my computer->properties->hardware->device manager->ports
Right click printer port->properties->resources->resource settings)
Choose the one where you can find the closest value. My one said "03BC-03BF", so I picked 0x3bc in the Supercard2 software.

Next you will have to choose which game you will pair with your Superpass. I used MarioKart DS, which is AMCE(printed on the game).
Press 'program', if you did everything correctly after 30 seconds it'll say "success, copy *.gba and *.sav... to your memory card"

The files are located in the programs directory, for my computer it was C:\program files\superpass2\GBAsav.
Copy the both files, *.gba and *.sav (in my case AMCE.gba and AMCE.sav) to the memory card.

Now you have a Superpass2! All you need to do is disconnect the cables from your Superpass and put it back into its case to use.

4. Using the Superpass2
I've tried following other instructions, but I found that this way worked the best for me.

Only insert your Supercard and turn on your DS.
Run the *.gba file (in my case AMCE.gba) It'll say sram loaded.
Now insert the Superpass2(with game) into the DS.
Quickly turn off and on the DS.
This time you will be taken to the full Supercard menu.
Now you can play your DS games or install Flashme.

dang!!! you beat me to it!

EDIT:  just though u might like to add the resistor can be anywhere between 3.3 and 5k and 2x 1.2v rechargeables wil work too, and it dont need to be pretty!
