I thought the same as you. so I contacted the G6 makers directly and was told by Danny that the G6 Lite comes with the different coloured cases. I also checked with divineo china and was also told that the G6 Lite came with the different coloured cases. I've ordered mine already for my black ds lite.

I read that homebrew compatibility for the G6 Lite isn't good. Does anybody know if programs like Beup and NDSMail work on the G6 Lite? I plan to use these hombrew apps.

My G6lite did not come with black, read my review for details.
I have to say I couldn't care less, but you could also just mod your original NDSlite case (the one that came with your DSlite) as it is just an empty PCB.

As for homebrew, I've tested DSlinux (.nds build) and it works like a charm, I've also tested the GBA-flash card version of ScummVM and it works fine too.
Moonshell works too, but only the G6lite modified version.

so does it works with fat-enabled homebrew? for example, does DSOrganize work flawlessly?

A so I got a semi English package, good to know .
As for fat enabled homebrew....Moonshell works (the special G6 edition), I haven't tested any other homebrew other then scummVM from which I only got the .ds.gba version to work.

i don't know why danny would say this.  The first "trial" version chinese G6 Lite only came in white, but now the normal retail chinese version comes with 3 colours.  I had enamel navy, ice blue, and crystal white in my Chinese retail package.

Sorry sneef that is my fault.I just assumed that the chinese version was only available in white,  Danny never said such a thing.This is the part that Danny wrote:-
