I have been reading that the SClite is a very tight fit in the system. What are your opinions and solutions to this matter?

i sand and now it comes out smoothly. also to risk the microsd falling out i stick it in with a small pice of paper.

does it look ok? I mean, after sanding, doesn't it look a little rough, as in "not smooth"? or a fine sandpaper can make it smooth?

yeah, you have to use a fine sand paper if you want it to still look nice, just be patient. afterwards it becomes smooth and still looks nice.

Once its inserted into the DS, why would you ever need/want to take it out? I'd make sure those contact traces were very clean, stick it in, and leave it forever.

I'm thinking about altering my SC lite (when I get it) to place it into the DSL's dust cover. How difficult to do you guys think it will be? It seems to me that it would require a little dremmel job: Sanding a micro SD slot shouldn't be the hardest thing, it'll probably make the SD card fit a little better too.

its useless, i tried it and the structure from the supercard lite is so different from the lite cover. i mange to make the pcb board fit but i couldnt screw it againts the lite cover or hold it in place.

When sanding... what parts did you sand? Front, Back Left Side, Right Side? What sandpaper grit number did you use?

did you try to use some kind of glue or maybe some kind of adhesive sponge pads? you don't only need to screw ;P

I didn't sand it or anything. I put it in and it was tough to get out the first couple times but it seems easier now for some reason.  Maybe I'm just used to it.

Which surfaces need sanding, and how much?

Try VERY lightly greasing the sides with baby oil.

You better hope its light. I'm sure the contacts wouldn't like the oil hehe. Just don't use butter or crisco.

I can't imagine trying to take out my microSD card and having it slip from oil residue

But so far that's the best way to not void your warranty :)

Don't do this.  Oil attracts and traps dust.  The sides of your lite will be sticky and black soon after you oil it.  Stick with sanding.
