Hi.
I use flashme + supercard CF to play games.

All the other games that I want to play work fine. All except Osu!

This game keep freezes.
I use SanDisk Ultra II 1.0GB CF card. I used to have Crucial but that CF card keep freezes so I bought the SanDisk. Now every games work fine except Osu!

I always hold down abxy to boot, with Metroid Prime DS demo.
Tried all the other DS games for boot, but all with same result.

I checked the CRC but and it's the same version that's listed on this site.

Does anybody know the solution to this?

Osu is VERY VERY VERY sensitive to timing. If you have a slower card, or a slower brand of CF card this could be causing the problem. Another thing that causes a lot of freezes for people is if your card is too close to being full. Leave about 20% of your card empty at least before trying this game.

The only other way people have gotten this game to work, is to cut out the music (which ruins the entire point of the game) and using loadme.

thx for your fast reply!  :D

so I guess that I should get 80X speed CF card..

and is loadme hard to run it in supercard?   :?

et100

oh wait..
I just checked my SanDisk Ultra II speed is one of the fastest in the market. Maybe I should try to re-download it again.

I'll tell you if I get game running successfully.  :D

I'm using a PNY 512MB 10x SD card, and Ouendan plays flawlessly for me. (Unless you count loading times just before the songs, which I don't.)

Go with Koji's advice. I've been keeping 75-100MB free on my card, and it works.
Manually signing your posts is dumb.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.

There has been no proof that card speeds make any difference... I have a feeling what really matters is access speed... and access speed seems to differ most between brands.

I believe this to be the case because the fuller you have a card, the slower the access speed becomes. That's why reducing the amount of data on the card usually helps with crashes caused by it.

It won't matter how many times you download the game from however many sources. If the access speed is too slow, then it's just too slow and it will always have crashing.

Maybe it's the CF card that is very sensitive with supercard.

People with SD card with certain brand has no problem with Osu!. Speed really isn't the issue here I guess. I always have 20~40% free space on my CF card so..

I tested with 2 CF card as I said.

Crucial 512MB - it didn't even boot some of the games frequently and it had lots of lockups.

SanDisk 1GB - every games boot fine and works fine except Osu!

Maybe if I get bonus this thanksgiving, I'll try to test it with Trenscend 80X. I saw 1 report on the other site's forum that Trenscend 80X worked without any problem.

Maybe hoping to see that the next SC firmware might fix this before I waste any money.  :D

Well, as I see it, if you are going to spend $40+ to try and get another CF card to get 1 game working that isn't working with your current card... you'd probably be better off just importing the game and using your current CF card since it seems to be working for everything else ^_^

et100

true.
and thanks to everybody who replied!

I just got the result!

My conclusion is that if your game freezes, and even the CRC code matches, try to download it again. It might work. Believe it or not, I just re-downloaded Osu! from the new source. (you know.. the 'chatting' program..   )

It works perfectly. I could never play Osu! more than 3 songs - now it works; Which I really don't get, because even CRC code was identical.

And about buying another CF card - wanted to find something by my own instead of believing what others say. I work, so spending another $70 isn't that much.  8)

Well, if anything goes wrong again, I'll make sure to post it again.
Thanks everybody.  :)
