Well, I patched Star Fox Command with the 2.55 software. I'm running 1.63 firmware on my ENG Supercard mini-SD.

So, I have a flashed DS Lite. I hosted a DS download play using my flashed DS Lite. Then, I tried to join with my unflashed regular DS. It worked great!

I'm so happy, I can play Star Fox Command on DS download play. :D

So, are we saying that the "single card download play" issue of a FLASHED DS hosting and a NON-FLASHED DS 'guesting' is now gone with 1.63?

Well, a few older games worked flashed->non-flashed too.  Star Fox Command might fall into this special case category?

Yes, that's right.

Just tried New Super Mario Brothers with the new patcher.
No luck I'm afraid.

Does anyone know the exact cause of this?
As far as I can tell, when using a superCard to host a game an invalid RSA code gets sent. Thus on a non-flashed DS the game wont load due to an failed RSA check.
A flashed DS gets past this by not checking/auto passing the RSA.

Now the question is why is a bad RSA code produced?
I remember reading somewhere its due to the ROM dumping process, to dump the rom the RSA is ripped or something.
It could equally be because the code is being read from the gba slot.

If its a issue with the ROM maybe some games work because the correct RSA is still in the image, or they just plain dont use it!
(Although I dont see why MarioKart and NSMB would and StarFox doesnt)

I have very little idea of how the RSA actaually works but if I did have the knowledge I would look into either:
patching games so they broadcast a valid or dummy auto pass RSA.
or modify the SuperCard firmware to pass the valid/dummy code on the fly
or use flashme to always send a correct code.
..........
alright enough brian storming lets see if I can go find some info on this....

oh wait...thats right, I'm at work!
