A recent thread was started with a similar topic, there were a bunch of good suggestions...  but here's a better one: buy a 1 gig SD.  512 IMHO is too small for an entire trip.

that would be my thread, make a search for "vacation" in the General section and you will find my thread

and 256 lasted me the whole way there and back (but of course I only played when i was in the car)
