SC MiniSD power consumption question.

Hi all,

Just want to get some advice. I have a SC MiniSD, a SuperKey, 1G ATP 150X miniSD card and NDS Lite. I got everything to work for about a week now.

I'm starting to notice the power runs low after 3-4 hours of play, so I have to charge my DS Lite pretty much every night. Basically, whenever the Power light turns red if I unplug the superKey the light goes back to green, and when I plug it back the power light is red again.

I've also boot into System Setup, and the Batery indicater shows full; however, if I plug the SuperKey back in and play, the power runs out alot faster than playing real DS games. Is this normal?

I'm not sure how the rechargeable battery works in the SC, does the whole system uses SC battery when playing NDS rom?

Also when I patch the rom, if I let the rom to load using the SC memory instead of directly loading from MiniSD will that prolong the battery life?

Please advice, and many thanks!

It's nice to see a post that confirms my own findings, I too witnessed most clearly the power drain of a passcard with the exact same experiment. Light turns red, take the pasccard out and run the game (from menu) the light stays green for up to an hour. Put the passcard back in and the light will go to red.

This has to proof of battery drainage with a passcard. There is no other explanation.
Yes I'm mad

My brightness level on DS Lite is set to 3/4, and according to the official DS site. It should run up to 11 hours.

<電池持続時間>
最低輝度 約15~19時間
低輝度  約10~15時間
高輝度  約7~11時間
最高輝度 約5~8時間
(使用するソフトにより異なります)
<フル充電時間>
約3時間

So, does this mean if you play rom with SC the power consumption is another story? Is my DS broken? hmmm... confused.

The whole plug/unplug SuperKey thing sort of shows that the low power was due to using SuperKey + SC and playing games. Does some one
know why?
