Hey people, I've put this ds game on my SuperCard Lite, using a Sandisk 1gb Micro Card (not ultra), and i've noticed that there is slowdown in parts of the game if I hold sukis hand near the sea or other animations. I'm just wondering if this is a problem related to the card, or if the retail game is like that? I also experienced slowdown in Animal Crossing.

Where are you getting the slowdown in Animal Crossing? The two biggest spots are on the games start up after pressing start and when coming out of houses hold a direction on the dpad and hold run and you'll notice a pause sometimes. Are you getting any of those? Also have you tried the Castlevania video?

the problem is related to your microsd card, you need an ultra. or maybe you just need to upgrade to the new firmware and re-pacth your games with the new software, i've seen that it helps.

get it here if you havent

Thanks but I already updated my firmware, and patched the game with the new patcher (although I used the same save game from the older patcher.. not sure if that would make a difference though)

Try to leave 15% of you memory stick empty

I have lol, it has like 50% space left. It doesn't matter anyway, i've just ordered an Ultra II card so I shall report if it makes any difference :).

i'm still not sure ultra ii making a difference in microsd cardds and the sc lite - atleast not in the castlevania video, where both cards show sound distortions (even though these occur a little bit later when using ultra ii compared to normal sandisk).

i dont believe its the micro sd speed. the ultra doesnt improve the sd speed much, and as someone said somewhere else, if the supercard is slow (which it is and thats why its cheap) the sd wont make it faster. what im saying is it MAY help dampen the issue, but it will not solve it.

i wish i had tech specs before purchasing the supercard lite. could spent a bit more for no slowdown (M3).

M3 is no faster... believe me, it's probably in-game slowdown that even the original has that is mentioned in this thread. Like the slow-down when playing Nanostray when the screen gets full.

M3 for instance needs a fast mem card with lightning access times for no slow-down in Castlevania vid just like the SC's.. it just now the SC-lites can now do this with a standard mem card.

You have to remember that some DS games do have slow-down due to cpu over usage ect just like any other console
Yes I'm mad

meangreenie, you are right.

anyway, I can't find any slowdown in lost in blue on supercard lite compared with g6 lite or m3 (using 150x SD).

If you're noticing slowdown, it may be the game itself...

I always thought it was a comination of SD card speed + the speed of the ram inside the supercard, i.e. the ram cant stream the game from the sd fast enough to the ds's ram.
