I've read a couple of articles about this speculation. Because of the DS/Wii interaction, there now is a strong rumour that the DS will have a motion sensor built for it.

Who knows more about this? Please post. I can't wait for this to happen.
It would even more enhance the "feeling is believing" experience of the DS!

As much as we would love this to happen, it would only be a bad thing for us flash card users, meaning upcoming games using tilt function games will require new carts with tilt or buy the original games.

Not if this DSLink thing turns out to be any good!

Honestly, I can't see it happening.  This would be akin to requiring SOME games to have the product, and some that wouldn't.  Nintendo has said clearly that the DS is perfect because there would NOT be added expense, such as the GC/GBA link cable.  That would add another complicated level for developers and that doesn't make sense.  Games that use the link system are already going to be challenging with the "Do they have a DS or not?" let alone the "Do they have a DS AND a sensor cart?" configuration.

I think we're safe.

Hi what about the "Rumble Pack" thats available for and activated for some DS games and not all ?  Just because a 'sensing device' is developed doesn't mean that it will exclude non-buyers from specific games.

As with all things Nintendo it can just adds to the experience.

How can a game use motion sensor yes or no?  I can understand rumble, but it would just cost nintendo more to develope games that have 2 completely different control schemes.  i think... lol

by then, flash-cardless  device like the "NinjaPass" will be very popular.

Supercard and M3 will also come up with their own.. err.. 'innovation' of the NinjaPass.

Then we'll all be happy! :D

I think a motion sensor for the DS is certainly possible.  Look at WarioWare Twisted for example.  It would probably be sold with a game, similar to the RAM pack for DS browser.  I think Nintendo has plans for using DS Lite as a wireless gamepad for Wii, providing private screen information to each player. This would be useful for playing Texas Hold'em poker, or something.

yeah, nintendo has been producing tilt or twist enabled cartridges for the gbc and gba since 2000, and for the ds it would be easier to have it user by other developers (there's only been one third party game with tilt support ever), as the device can be put into an option cartridge, like the band brothers expansion or the memory extension included with the ds browser.

i hope they do it soon, because i enjoy tilt-and-twist game play a lot more than the touch screen.

I think its a great idea, as I've thought about this before. Wouldent it be nice to have a portable Wii... only thing is I think it should be a wireless device or teathered to the DS instead of built in a gba cartridge, or preferably one sensor on the DS while you hold it and one on your free hand Wii style, that way you wont have to move your screen around so much.  When you think about it you have 360 degrees of motion since the screen is in your hands, unlike the Wii where you are limited by your view of the TV... quite interesting, if not odd when you think of yourself rotating around and spazzing all over the place while playing with your DS, sounds like fun to me.  But it appears its only a tilt type thing device, its nice to imagine though.

yeah something like the ninjapass using micro sd for memory would rock big time, but the actual ninjapass is of no value to me, I mean 512Mbit? what about 1Gbit games? also no space for mor then what 2 games? that sux period.
SC CF + 1GB Kingston CF + flashed NDS = a whole lot of fun.

You know it's coming, right?  There was just a post about that kind of device in the Other Flashcarts section.  Very exciting!

I don't think they will do this, unless it is only for one game.  Nintendo has never made it 100% necessary to get an addon.  Games should always be playable without the addon.  In the exception of Opera Web Browser, that was 100% necessary.  But it was only 1 game and it came with it for free.  I don't think they will make this like a thing you must buy to play newer games...

Also if it does happen...  I'm getting a DSLink for sure!  :)
