I posted this on gbatemp site but some may not read that site so here is the post.

There is a new version of supercard software out, is there really a difference? (yes i can read but don't understand)

here is what the download page says:

The Newest Version

SOFTWARE: SuperCard SD & MiniSD V2.55 C & Firmware V1.63b (Fixed V1.63 update problem.) (2006.08.04)

SOFTWARE: SuperCard SD & MiniSD V2.55 & Firmware V1.63b (Fixed V1.63 update problem.) (2006.08.04)

SOFTWARE for MoonShell: MoonShell Reset for SC (2006.08.03)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

History...

SOFTWARE: SuperCard SD& MiniSD V2.55 C(2006.08.07)

Added an option "Enable patch Cartridge access" for NDS game. If
convert NDS games such as like "0512 starfox" at 0 bytes, please
select this option. The default setting is unselect for normal NDS
games. It improve the compatible of NDS games.

SOFTWARE: SuperCard SD & MiniSD V2.55 (2006.08.03)

DS roms patch update to 0512.
Fixed 0507, 0511, 0512 can not be convertd problem. 0511 StarFox has a small problem when using fast load mode, but it can be perfect when using full load mode to run.
Some DS roms like 0507, 0512 need more time to be converted. Because it use new convert method to solve the problem.
Software V2.55 need to work with Firmware V1.63.
SAVE file compatible with old version.

well, my starfox worked with the software released a few days ago (2.55 micro), so i don't see a need to update the patcher.

Yup its just a small update to the patcher, firmware version is the same as the last package, supercard.tk updated...

The first update was released but it was causing some older SuperCard (with CB chip) miniSD/SD's to brick so they released a "b" version which corrected the issue. There is no difference between the non "b" versions other then the fix for older SC's. These updates just fix game patching errors for new games.

Yep just a new DS option, for fixing the 0kb output file error, the new M64 trainer can now be successfully patched with this option  (probably, i have not tried it yet)
Yes I'm mad

I hate when people post questions without the "?" mark on the title. I get all hyped thinking it's a actual afirmation.
Like now "hey! great, a new SC software is out!"...

But there is new SC software out ;)

kaymm2

what is the diff between 2.55 and 2.55C?

onekelly

Thanks ratx, masterman, it is new software out(!)lol.  I questioned it because the newly released version does not have a b on the bin file, like the previous fixed one did. The only other change was the setupsdV255Cen.exe has a cen on the filname. I did not use the new bin as i hadn't updated sc card and did not want to brick it with a possibility that supercard site accidentally put the old file in the dl.

I put 1.63 on my SC CF, do I need to upgrade the firmware to the b version ?

I thought the b was only for the SD versions due to the bricking

my only concern is if the next upgrade is an scu again then will we need to have been on the b version first ?
