I've had my Supercard SD for about 2 weeks now and I have a 512MB RiDATA SD card. Well from a couple of weeks of use I start rotating some games in and out from my card. I turn it on and try to play it and it says please insert SD card, my first problem is "okay no worries, just didnt contact right" So I pull it out and pop out the SD card and put it back it. The I boot up the menu and I try to play Viewtiful Joe. It goes to that little loading screen and instead of hanging there for about 2 seconds, the numbers keep counting up. Then I turn it off and try to play Sonic Rush. I get into the game and try to go to the menu screen but it just hangs there at a white screen. So now I turn it off again and my whole menu is blank, BLANK! I put the SD card in my computer and the only thing that it says is on the SD card is sonic_ru.sh(which is also a 0kb file) and nothing else is there. Then I right click to see how much space is left. It says that all the space is taken up and not only that, I cant delete the file. So now I have to reformat the card and put all my games back on there. The main thing that pisses me off is that I finished THAS 100% and I really aint got the time now with school coming up on the 14th.

Does anyone know how this happend and how can I prevent this from happening? This is the second time in 2weeks and my Supercard is brand new. Also one thing about RiDATA is that newegg got a bad batch of them but they said that they sent them back but I'm hoping that they had a second bad batch and I didnt get one of them. Any help would be appreciated.

Also I'm using the newest firmware and software.

That happens to me all the time with my supercard CF.  I get corrupted files frequently and sometimes my pc reader can't even read the card and I have to format and start all over.  Its very annoying.
DS-Supercard cf 1gig cf card !

Not sure how corrupted files work, but I do recommend making a folder for .sav backups...I do a backup around once a month, and maybe once a week for a certain game I'm playing often.

I do the same. I make sure all my saves are backed-up everytime I change files on my SC. To do otherwise is just being careless.

Any time I try DS organise I end up with this - maybe it's me but if I use it to copy or rename files I sometimes get it or if it tries to create it's directories.

I now keep one CF for games and one for apps

:D

backing up your .sav is also good practice

Uh oh I didn't know about this, for my old flashcart I backup about every week.  But now that I know files can get corrupted in supercard too, I'll back up every week too....  :) Thnx for warning

berlinka

Yeah I backup my saves a lot although I never had ANY problem like that. I'm lucky I guess...

This happened top me a few time before as well. I was able to stop it by not overstuffing my mini SD. What I mean by overstuffing is putting 600 Mb worth of tuff on a 256 Mb card. Maybe you are having a similar problem and that is why you are getting corupted files.

The problem with supercard are the Compact Flash connector just push down your Compact Flash while pressing power and you will see your files.

I just bough a SD cause CF one had this problem. What i will have to do
is keep the SD card in and transfert files via WIFI.

nah mine is fine but simply corrupts files with some homebrew apps, there are some bugs in the driver I guess

Yeah I dont really over stuff my card because sometimes I dont even think that I fill it up all the way.

...You should've run CHKDSK on it first.

Jackalo

For anyone with a Supercard SD (or miniSD), I'd strongly advise steering clear of any version of DSOrganize higher than 2.00, as the file library was switched from Fat Lib (which loves Supercard SD) to Rein Lib (which sucks at SD).

Zygarth

I'm using DSOrganizeB2_2_Preview_2 on a supercard SD without any problems.

PharaohsVizier

Yea me too, although I don't use it too much...
