New signature and avatar guidelines

There are several sigs and avatars on the forums that are way too large and take up too much screen real estate. As a result, we must implement guidelines so that the forums are easily readable and are not taken over by large and repetitive text/images.

Signatures[/color]

1. Must be no larger than 400x100 pixels in size
2. Must not include more than 4 lines of text (this includes spaces)

Avatars[/color]

1. Must be no larger than 120x120 pixels in size

All users will have one week to update their sigs and avatars. Any offending content that remains after August 17th 2006 will be removed without warning.

if I try adding a avitar it says I can only have it up to 80x80 and 6kb. how are people getting big avatars?

If you try to upload an avatar to our site it'll restrict the size, but it can't restrict the size on off-site avatars. I've changed the on-site avatar limit to 120x120.

im gutted i had to give up my old sig ill make a new one soon
the one im using now is just a temp one

Actually, your old sig was fine. We will be lenient with tasteful sigs that aren't much above the posted limits.
