Some team has developed a revolutionary new flash cart for the DS which has 4GBit of memory, a USB connector and a custom operating system all housed in a case the same size as an ordinary DS cart.

QuoteDS-X

Our ingenious team are delighted to unveil what can only be regarded as the finest example of innovation and quality to grace the DS enthusiast scene. The DS-X (DS Extreme) is a flash cart like no other, just one bespoke single regular DS cart sized device with an exquisitely crafted design opening up an array of possibility on your DS or DS Lite console as never seen before.

Right out of the box the DS-X offers un-paralleled functionality, possessing 4Gbit (512 Mbyte) of memory space, a high speed USB 2.0 in-built connection and a full sized onboard EEprom complete with some serious custom engineering, all of which is enclosed in a specially tailor made durable DS cartridge case. No PC software required, No external memory, No Passme or GBA cart needed, just drag and drop your favourite DS media or homebrew files 'til your heart is content, navigating through them with our savvy custom operating system featured onboard the DS-X â€" it just couldn't be simpler!

Stay tuned for more information and release date (which is soon), but for now head on over to www.ds-x.com and check out our flash based video trailer.

If they would just put a microSD card slot in this device as a 2nd version of the product I would be in heaven!

Enjoy,

dagn it seems like there is a new cart coming out every week now.

wow it says in the flash trailer that it dosn't need passme, so I'm assuming you don't have to flash your DS to use it on like the DS Link.  Supposedly it's drag and drop with no software too.

this could be an amazing product

monaug5

i hope you dont have to flash your ds as i will be selling all of my homebrew stuff to buy this when it is released

No you don't have to have a flashed DS as it functions as a Nopass device too!

No problem DeVS, glad to do it! Can I have the on probation thingy removed from my name now? lol ;)

Also here is a pic of the PCB:

FifthE1ement

It says it doesn't require a Nopass device in their press release above. Just read through the whole thing in the quote box.

Thanks for the kind words!

from the looks of that menu it looks like it has a settings, music, file management and a game mode mode so who thinks its better than DSlink?

sneef

wow.. pretty cool.  in a way i wish they didn't put the mini-usb connector on the cart, and just released a cart reader.  one less thing to break on the cart itself..

monaug5

well a few months ago this was thought impossible but now this device will literally make homebrew so much easier and cheaper hopefully for the average person i believe it wont cost mroe than £70
