GBA games don't save!

So I finally got everything working for me. Enjoying my DS games, when I decide to put a GBA game on. Well, I patched it with the patcher, got 3 files, put all 3 on my SD card (I have a Supercard SD) and everything is ok.

I opened it up on the Supercard, it's working fine, I'm enjoying my game, then I come to a save point. Well, first I tried with Pokemon Fire RED. When I went to save it, it said it failed and is looking for a backup save and says it will take about one minute, but it basically freezes.

Then I tried with another game called Alien Hominid. It's working fine, I'm enjoying myself, then I come to a save point. Well, this time it actually saves. I checked my files and it was there. I turned it off and turned it on a while later, and POOF, it's gone.

There is obviously something wrong with something when it comes to saving GBA games. I can save NDS games perfectly, but GBA games never work.

Please help me out. I wanna play some old skoo' games!

Thanks alot.

Did you use l+R+Sel+A after saving?

When I try and do that, it just ignores the previous buttons and just thinks I pressed A, so I keep going through the game.

Pokemon fire red.... try using the 'real time save' ...press 'L+R+Select+B'  .. note only save outside of houses and not in the menu.

Normal saves for gba games are done first in game so the save is in the saver memory, then to get that save from saver memory to you're memory card for later loading press 'L+R+Select+A'  .. when you launch the gba rom the next time the save file on memory card loads into the saver memory.

note press the button combinations together in one go...you'll get used to it.
Yes I'm mad

Oh, I see. So with Pokemon Fire RED, I can't save it properly, but have to use the real time save? While with all other GBA games, I save it properly, then do the real time save? Ok, thanks. Whats the difference though with pressing L-R-Select-A and L-R-Select-B?
