well there are some things I still don't quite understand right now, like the case of mario kart ds, hell I intend to buy one, but then it will automatically upgrade my ds firmware to the latest version therefore making superpass useless, so bottonline is, i have to chose wheter i get mario kart ds or keep using superpass, or maybe get passme2, or is it something they can fix by upgrading the firmware on the supercard?, I would like to stay away from flashme don't really trust it, i know that for many of you the DS is somewhat disposable so if it breaks big deal, go out and buy a new one, but that's not the case for me, so if i try flashme and screw something up that's it no more DS for a long time.

I also really care about my DS but I used Flashme anyway. It is very easy to do and I don't see how you can screw up, just keep your DS plugged in so the batteries won't run dead.
One day I decided to flash my DS and 5 minutes later, it was already finished, it's really easy, nothing can go wrong.

Except if you turn it off while your doing it which trust me is something that is easily avoidable

but then there's no way in hell the current superpass will work with the new DS firmware?

o yeah another concern of mine is wheter all wifi enabled games(original) will work correctly if i use flashme, i better wait for confirmation, cuz i do intend to buy mario kart and maybe animal crossing, i dont know it's just that the flashme makers didn't had any wifi games to test you know.

Mario kart does NOT update the DS firmware. All it does is write to the (normally) unused portion of the firmware that flashme used to use.

The problem was the old flashme used all this empty space that mariokart now writes it's wifi settings too. This overwrote flashme and caused the DS to be a brick. The new firmware fixes this by no longer using the unused space.

I was somewhat in the same situation as you. I bought a new Pure White DS that has the new firmware already. I had no choice if I wanted to play games, but to install the Flashme or continue to use my Passme2 all the time.

I bit the bullet and went ahead and installed the Flashme v5. I really take all of 2 minutes to get it installed. Just make sure your DS has a full charge first. DO NOT turn it off until it says Flashme Successful... then you are done.

One other note. even with the Flashme installed... I can still use both my Superpass and Passme2 if I want with no problems.

ok, last question i promisse

I know I dont need superpass to run games with the supercard IF i use flashme, now using superpass the ds automatiocally loads the supercard in ds mode and i cant run any gba games, the only way is power down, take superpass off and power up again, so how the hell does it work with flashme? does the supercard automatically bot in nds mode? what if i want to run the supercard in gba mode again?

With flashme, the DS loads up perfectly normal UNLESS you hold down ABXY then it boots into DS mode from the GBA slot.

Unless the cart in the GBA slot has a game code of PASS or a title of DSbooter, then it also boots into DS-GBA mode, even if not holding ABXY.
Manually signing your posts is dumb.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.

oh, i see, that's quite good actualy, all i need now is to get a proper tool to open my DS battery lid then, i mean after someone using flashme can confirm to the comunity that the original DS wifi enabled games work online with no problems.

Someone already has. Lots of people already have mario kart and have reported with v5 firmware everything works fine.
