hello, i would like to know if anyone has developed a method (better if easy and repicable to let anyone use it) to grab ds screen pics (or video::am i dreaming?)
it would be hard to go near to IGN quality ...
and perhaps only Mr. Burns   owns a NitroEmulator...

but anyway would be useful to start the definition of a standard method to grab ds screens...bye

suggestions welcome.
this could be a good post for nds guide (contest)section....

here is a link to ign description of their gba screen capturing method and tools

It would be very difficult to do a real screen capture on the DS hardware itself as you'd have to have a special screenshot app running alongside a game, and the DS really isn't made for that sort of thing.

Your best bet is to grab a screenshot using a DS emulator.  I know there are a couple out there, but I'm not sure how well they work.

Well for my screens that I show on ebay, I just use a newly cleaned DS Lite screen (with highest brightness setting) and a camera with no flash.  Gives really nice results.

thanks to your repliese, both of them confirm my idea about the current situation, best way for now is using a well positioned camera...

ntolerance : i've tested various emulator, knwon to be the top ones, but none gives a minimal guarantee to run correctly any game, just some signs of light in the dark for some games...
emulation for nds roms is still in a primitive stage...even if various coders have done big steps and a hard work..my respect to all them

nintendo do it by wiring there console, its how they use the projector, i wanna work out how they do it, it wud be cool- ds2tv ^^

mgarrine

yes it would be really cool. do you remember a few week ago (perhaps in june) on dcemu.co.uk apperared a "gear"  that was able to send ds video output to tv- it was a wip, and no news were given later till now...
the solution could be opening the ds and hooking the part that send the video signal to the top scrren rredirecting this to a video output. but perhaps i'm wrong...i'm not so a pundit on hardware
