I HIGHLY recommend this reader:

Works on all forms of SD from mini to micro to MMC to standard. This little reader is MUCH faster than my 15-in-1 Sandisk reader, and of course has the ports that the older one did not (Like mini and micro sd). It is a very good buy for $15 and free ship....for a quality name brand reader. I ordered a second one, that is how much I like it :) Just a heads up for those looking for a good reader...

do you know of any good ones that include compact flash cards?
I don't need one but my dad does.

Well, the 15-in-1 (or is it 12-in-1?) Sandisk supports them. But, it is a stand up model that is always plugged into the PC. I no longer use CF cards. I may sell off this reader if anyone is interested. It handles SmartMedia, all forms of MS, and all forms of SD. I just personally like the mini model I listed better honestly.

What makes them good and what makes them bad?

I second that recommendation.  It even does MICROSD without an adapter.

I have the same mobilemate SD+ and just formatted my new micro sd with it. I like that it also has the micro slot as well

I just use my All-in-one printer,
