Supercard Lite

I'm seriously thinking about getting a supercard lite, but 1 thing is holding me back from getting it.  So many people are complaining about the build quality, wouldn't it be tonnes better for the Supercard Team if they just put out new supercard lites with a slightly modified case?

I'm also considering waiting for the M3 Lite.  What do u guys think?  I also have a Supercard mini-sd, should i just stick with the mini sd?

sneef

i like the supercard lite A LOT!  the only thing you have to do is sand it a bit.  it's no big deal, and then it slides in and out nicely.

if you really need GBA compatibility, then wait for the m3 lite, but if you don't care (i don't really, since i have ezflash-3 for GBA on my micro) then just get the SC Lite.

honestly, i hardly use my G6 Lite now.  Its so much easier to load roms onto a microSD than using the G6 USB dongle.

Lol that was what I had setup.  I had an EZ Flash 3 for my GBA games and a Supercard mini sd for my nds games.  Sadly I sold it, needed the money to buy an sclite.  BTW if I sand it, does it void my warrantee?

I know the supercard does gba descent, and it is fine for me as long as it can play harvest moon...

sneef

ok, warranty i have no idea, but i assume shredding your casing will void it.  LOL..

I didn't really care about that, because even if something happens a few months down the line, it's still worth the price.

as far as harvest moon goes, it works fine on supercard.  haven't tried on the lite, but played it for a long time on the SCSD.  got bored though...

you shouldn't have sold your ez3.  it's such a nice cart.  I have a 1Gb and a 2Gb of EZ3.  very nice for GBA,.

the supercard lite is great, although it doesn't come out of the slot so easily, it fits nicely in the ds lite and really there is no reason to constantly take the sc lite our of the slot anyways, so its really nice to use, compared it with my friends supercard mini sd and the sc lite looks so much better, the sc mini is an igly clear purple and sticks out of the NDSL and doesn't even match...
BTW, will sanding the sclite damage any of the chips inside? and will any sand paper do? also, which side do you sand the side with or without the sc lite label?

sneef

i don't see how sanding can damage the chips..

I only sanded the two sides, and the back (the opposite side of the label).  Especially the back, as the DSLite dust cover has a beveled edge, and the supercard lite doesn't

I would not compare a little sanding to shredding the case, especially as it is sort of a flaw-ish in the product. As long as you do not crack it open, I would think you would be fine. Have to say I am loving mine as well, also just picked up the ds lite last night and today product in the mail. Great timing!

I have not tried any gba games yet. my daughter said the screen brightness was great in the car with full sun, she could still play against her cousin.

As for gba we have a xrom512 we picked up well over a year ago.

sneef

xrom 512 rocks!  i have that too.. gave it to my brother though, along with a gba micro for his birthday.

but regarding the "shredding the case", all I was saying is that I doubt you can claim warranty from the manufacturer after sanding the case.  This is not America.

Even when people on these forums say "you should buy your DS Lite from a major retail chain, then you can return it if it has a cracked hinge", that only applies to the USA.  In Asia, there's no such thing.  and if you have a sanded-down casing, I am sure they won't accept it for return.

I don't know about the US distributors, I'm talking about manufacturers warranty.  That's what the little sticker on the housing is (showing the month of production)

I see what you are saying, every country has its pros and cons. To be honest, I don't think you could tell if it was sanded.

your brother must love the xrom 512. It works very well, too bad it is so hard to get now from easybuy2000.

Lol, I sold the EZ Flash 3 for $70 because there are practically no more gba games out there I haven't played.  I had an XG Flash Xtreme when GBA just came out, then an EZ Flash 3, I prcatically played through every game, except jap ones...

Now you are confusing me, your post makes it seem like you want to sand the ds itself?  I thought you were talking about sanding down the Supercard.  If I don't sand it down, does it like get used to it after a while?  I mean as in like does it kinda slowly fit better because either the ds or supercard is giving in a bit?

I'm also considering modding my dust cover, is that an easy option?

Lastyly, thnx for all the input.

I also did the sanding thing (with my wifes nail file) on the Supercard Lite, but only on the sides and not the back. Even then... it still fits snuggly enough and yet is easy to remove now.

sonicwind

no can really tell you sanded it unless they put it into a lite and find it fits nicely.  Also your not sanding the ds he mentioned sanding the back of the scl. And it woudl be very hard to mod the dummy card becuase it only has 1 screw and the scl has 2 on the back+all the other internal work.

PharaohsVizier

I'm gonna post this up on RHS forum and ask if they would refund or exchange sanded down ones.

sonicwind

I would think people would buy it more if it would fit more properly.

PharaohsVizier

If it looked like the dust cover, and fit perfectly, I would have bought it in a split second...
