Yes, passme (actually passme2, but i am fw2).  If that is wrong, it won't work eh?  I cannot figure out how to find out if that is working or not....

so when you boot up, no DS files are shown?  only GBA files?

Is there a supercard logo in your lower screen (touch screen)?

If not, you are in GBA mode, and you need to boot into DS mode.  If you are using passme2, and still ending up in GBA mode, then something is wrong.  try wifime if you have a compatilbe wifi card.

let me know the answers to the questions above..

Daveychan

Thanks so much for the reply!

Yes, only gba files are showing.

no supercard logo has ever shown up.  when i boot nds, it goes to the gba screen on top as normal.

i am using passme2 (actually ezflash2). i have tried flashing this cart with the orginal JED file, since i am FW2, and tried with and without an orginal ds game in the cart with no luck.  i have also tried by flashing the cart with the same game i am using and done with and without the ds game.  when i boot with the orginal ds game AND the games JED file, i get double white screens on boot.

thanks!

You might want to make sure the DS is not set to auto-load games. If it's not flashed yet, you have to press a combination of buttons to boot into SC mode, too - forgot what they are because I never used the SC without flashme.

But yeah- either disable the DS auto-load option, or do a quick forum search to find the button combination to boot into SC mode. Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Starting with SELECT pressed puts me into the gba boot mode automatically, but it doesn't really boot the SC, it just shows the game boy logo as usual.

Starting with START pressed puts me into the DS boot mode (which is set to manual mode)... nothing to do but launch the GBA cartridge, which boots up normally....

:(

I'm starting to think my ezpass2 card is not working....
i just cannot boot anything special....

thanks anyways

Have you tried pressing ABXY as you boot?

Anyway make sure you are following the instructions for the Passme2/Superpass/whatever, IIRC you need to load the save game for whatever game you're using in the Passme, first (in GBA mode) and THEN quickly reboot with the Passme2 in the slot. Does that sound familiar?

Thanks!

Tried it, same problem, Game Boy logo.

I really think my problem is with the EZPass2. I have tried so many ways with the files on my Supercard, and it really is simple, so i don't think i'm screwing this up.

For EZPass2 troubleshooting info:
- I have a pink japanese NDS that when doing the chatroom A trick, indicates that I am firmware 2. This indicates that I SHOULD NOT actually need a game specific JED file, so, which JED do I flash to the EZPass2 for firmware 2? The only generic one I could find is the ezpass.jed file on the homepage. (I don't see any difference when I try stuff.)
- As mentioned, my AD2J-0 Nintendogs (JAP) NDS game is original, and the JED file for that is listed, so for most of the trouble shooting I have been using that flashed JED in combination with my orignal game. Again, the JED flash s/w is easy and it indicates success when I flash it.
- Is there any generic JED file I should try other than ezpass.JED ? Perhaps the AD2J-0 JED isn't really working, and that is the source of all my problems? Unfortunately it is my only original game, and I don't want to shell out 6,000 yen for another one.

Thanks again!

Well just as a thought, if worse comes to worse you can shell out 2400Y for the first Brain Training game, at least for the SuperPass2 that game is listed ... TBH I'm not familiar at all with EZPass2, though I imagine it's similar to SP2. Do you live in Tokyo, BTW?

Hi, thanks... thats a thought.

I'm just a bit miffed, because if i am FW2, i shouldn't even need a game specific JED file to launch my supercard.  It just seems odd that my orignal game and it's JED don't do the trick.

Yes, I live in Tokyo.

Appreciate the responses!

Yeah, well it's kind of weird that it isn't working. I'll leave more constructive suggestions to others who know more about the EZPass than I do, but in the meantime you should check your PMs. ;)

Okay, I can now get two white screens if I boot with my EZPass2 and my original DS game and NO supercard.

So now, after i put in my supercard, how do i get the supercard logo/GUI to come up?

- I have tried holding down x y a b buttons on startup

- I have tried holding down just START and just SELECT buttons on startup

- I have tried holding down START SELECT a b buttons on startup

- I have tried holding down START SELECT  L R buttons on startup

- I have tried loading my AD2J-0.gba file to put it in SRAM (writing success message appears) and inserting my EZPass2 with my DS card and then rebooting fast about 50 times.

- I have tried running the flashme.nds.gba but it just gives me one white screen on top and i never see the SRAM written message. Worth noting, when i boot without my ezpass2 and go into gba mode, i can see in red the "NDS Loader (in cart)" now at the top of my list.  - This makes me think that the SRAM is actually being done properly.

Please any advice?  I think I am close now because the EZPass2 card is now at least doing something!

Please and Thanks!

Maybe you're doing this already, but remember to put the EZ Pass/Passme/Superpass in AFTER you turn off your system. (but, of course, before you turn it back on a moment later)

I'm also assuming you got the conformation in the programmer that the game was correctly programmed into the EZ Pass 2.

So, the order is :

1. DS on. Run SRAM-writing GBA file.
2. DS off.
3. Insert EZ Pass.
4. DS on again.

It's just that, from what you're saying, it looks like you're swapping steps 2 and 3.

ALSO, remember to update the firmware on your Supercard. You can do it from GBA mode, just run the latest .bin file and make sure it's 1.60. My buddy's DS was white-screening when I tried running Flashme and I couldn't figure it out until I realized his Supercard was 1.43.
