I got word from Danny that the M3's version of the DS-Xtreme (DS slot loading mod) is done. They are waiting for the chip maker to complete with the mass production of there chip. There will be 2 versions, 1: A Micro SD cart and 2: A internal memory unit (like G6 has) and will come in 4G & 8G. BOTH versions have passme built into them.

omg!!!! If they realesed this soon I might have to sell my supercard lite and buy a rumble pack from japan and the m3

monaug5

so it will be exactly more less like DS Xtreme that has the M3 logo and stuff on it?

It sounds wicked at first, but unless theyve pulled off some kind of miracle, youre basically talking about giving up GBA so you can use the DS browser and rumble pak. Not much of a trade. Of course, you could run a GBA-dedicated cart from Slot 2, but that's a lot of extra expense.

Of course, if GBA was my #1 priority, I wouldn't have bought a Supercard.    Actually that decision was made because I already had 2 EFA's for my GBA needs. But now one of those carts has broken, and I'm starting to get itchy about my GBA-playing future. Startin' to think hard about that M3lite.

Will it be drag and drop (no need to patch the roms)?  For both the micro sd and the built in memory.

emoo55

Ya and its way better than ds-link. It has passme built in

monaug5

i might decide to buy the M3 Built in passme device 4GB version but will be patching of the games and will FlashMe be needed?? also the price of the 4Gb and 8Gb versions as DS-Xtreme is 4Gb and costs £70 in the UK.

PharaohsVizier

O BTW is supercard making it's own version?  Cuz if they are, I want Supercard instead.

Well we know what name the internal memory version will go under, G6, lol. I think they should just keep the M3 name and keep it simple as most people have no clue that M3 and G6 are the same company. Why waste branding two different trademarks when you can make one so much better by itself?

The SuperCard team may also be working on something but they don't release so much as a screenie until the unit is already in production and is almost ready to ship. I love the way they do it as I'm not waiting, it seems, forever for something to come out! I love to hear its coming next week and getting just as excited.

But lets remember this all may be just a rumor. I can't see how they could be done with a Slot 1 solution considering they have been having problems with the M3 Lite's PCB and making it fit into the GBA slot let alone the DS slot. All in good time my children!

I don't doubt for a second they have this done. The M3 team have NEVER lead anyone astray or made false claims about one of there products. So far in the DS scene there word has been as good as gold and if they say they have it I find it hard not to believe them. It is the M3 team were talking about after all.

I am 99.99% sure that Romman and the Supercard team are working on a new device that will be what is already known as a DS Slot Device. Supercard has always been one of the leaders in releasing new products. There is no way that other companies will release such a device and the Supercard not release a similar version. They have ALWAYS kept up on the pulse of the GBA/DS scene.

FifthE1ement is right though... as they tend to keep it to themselves until they know release dates. That way it is concrete and people look forward to getting their product soon after their announcment.

monaug5

with the m3 Lie and Supercard Lite just released i doubt that they will release a device like the DS Xtreme til Mid October/Early november

By the way, how do these things work with flashme?  Doesn't flashme automatically boot the gba side?

Scor

Where have you been living the last few months :).
When the M3 came out, soon after flashme also started detecting homebrew code from the DS slot.
