Hi all,

I'm kind of new to this whole GBA/NDS business.

I have my NDS-Lite, my superkey, my superkard.lite and 1 gb micro SD.
I have downloaded just about all GBA  and NDS games in zipped romfiles, and convert then via the program supercard (www.scdev.org)

I can see that the games have the the language in the file name lin (J) for Japan and (KR) for Korea

There are also files with (U) and files with (E). strange thing is that the (U) games are 1/2 of the size of the (E) game e.g.:
0123 - Nintendogs - Dachshund & Friends (E)(Trashman).nds.dsq is 66 mb
0091 - Nintendogs - Dachshund & Friends (U)(Lube).nds.dsq is 33 mb

I have played both games, and they are the same (????) and all in English.
My first understanding was that the (E) stands for european, containing "all" european languages (that explains the file size change) but they are both in English!

so, the whole post is about one question:
Is there a way to change the language?
if there is, how to do this
if there is not, how to obtain Dutch rom files!

Thanks for your feedback!

Bump.

anyone?

what is the reason why the romfilesize is that much difference???

ImmortalNinja

(U) means it was the cart that was released in US
(E) I thought meant england but apprently is Eu.
Eu releases are sometimes only in English and not other European languages depending on the game.
If they are popular they may get specail localisations like Ultimate SpiderMan which has a whole load of releases: (F) (G) (I) (S)
Havent played Nintendogs enough to know if its multiLingual or not.

I found out that games like Bigbrain and Brainage (E) version also contain Dutch language (and german, french etc., 6 in total)
When you first start up the game it will ask for the language, after this it does not show anymore.

The nintendogs is still a mystery to me.

Maybe it's a god idea to make a list woth all (E) roms, telling what language they contain?

(In needed I can make a start, as I DL just about "' all"  (E) and (U) roms. (up to number 531)

just becuase it doens't ask for the language anymore doesn't mean its not still built into the game.  E games are way bigger because they have atleast 4 languages in each probably english, french, german, italian or something like that.  U only has one language thus it is smaller and games come out for united states faster than in europe.

ImmortalNinja

Had a look at Nintendogs (E) versions
It doesnt have a manual setting for language selection instead the in game langauge is set to what ever langauge setting you have your DS set to.

how do you change the language of the DS???

ImmortalNinja

Go to the DS menu (hold select as you turn it on if you have supercard plugged in and flashme)
In the bottom middle of the screen there should be a DS icon, select it.
Click on the spanner icon and then the icon that looks like a globe.
Should be able to select languages available, mine has: English, Deutsch, Francais, Espanol, Italiano and Japanese.
When set to any of the European languages Nintendogs swapped text accordingly. When set to japanese english was used.

Thanks!

I guess if my language (Dutch) is not in there, it's also no use in swapping the language... unless I want to practice for my vacation in Italy :D

I'll look at it, but have piece now with it, that I have to live with the English language for the Nintendogs :-)

thanks all for the support!
