Get Bleach DS, it's Japanese but it's VERY easy to go through. Also it dosen't matter if you like the anime, the game is still awesome. It's also got WiFi (Though it's a bit laggy because it's the first game to use WiFi on the DS). Also Bleach DS 2 is coming out the end of the year. You could also try Jump Superstars but I (And most other people) prefer Bleach.

Probably gonna get booed and chased out of the village to be stoned but......
The PSP has much better fighters.
Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper and Tekken are near perfect with wifi play.

Well a port of the original Mugen is pretty much out of the question, since the source code is not publicly available. If someone were to try it, they'd have to settle for openMugen: http://openmugen.sourceforge.net/

Judging by the demo video, it looks like most of the fighting engine is up and running, but the backgrounds aren't implemented yet.

well i am currently coding a new game called: JesterCorp it basically is a 2d side scroller like MegaETk but will be updated Very regularly its been coded in DSLua the website will be up soon a basic website though.

if there is one thing the DS lacks - is good fighting games.

Namco had Tekken for GBA.

a new Tekken on the DS would be great! at least as good as the PSX versions.

the PSX had some Ok 2d fighters (33mhz w/ 2megs ram). the Saturn had some better 2d fighters (2.5-6.5 megs ram). X-Men vs Street Fighter was nearly arcade-perfect on the Saturn.

Mugen would be limited by the DS' amount of ram. so there'd be some issues in porting it.
