I just recieved my Supercard SD yesterday and had my SD card all prepped for it only to find out that the GBA SP turns on as though there's no game at all. It just displays the Gameboy logo. I tried on 2 SPs, 2 GBAs and I tried my Gamecube GB Player. Same results. Did I do something wrong or did I recieve a dud? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you received a dud. Or you have an SD version of the supercard and you don't have a SD card in it (most likely it's just a dud supercard though)

If no SD card was in it, wouldn't the GBA still recognize the device and say 'there's no sd card in it'? I tried with and without the sd card. I also tried different button combos to see if it would start but no luck. Time to contact the people in which I purchased it through.

Super Card CF detects if there is a card in it or not... but for me (and several other SD users, not sure if for everyone) if you do not have a SD card in the device it won't say anything. Just freeze at the GBA screen.

Like I said, chances are it's a bad supercard but it's ust something I thought I'd mention.

I'm going to try one more time if that's the case. On the firmware, is there a main firmware download I have to set up and then do the upgrades or do I just download the upgrade thingy? And are there any other files (besides roms and other media) that needs to be installed on the SD card? It's already formatted as a FAT.

As mentioned I am starting from scratch. To start things off, which files do I need on my SD card before I start adding games? Is there more than just the *.scu file?

This isn't a chatroom :p people help as they have time and the answers to... well... answer people.

Also note this isn't the main forum. While we try to offer people as much help as we can, you may be better off posting in the official forum.

Sorry, I'm just getting really frustrated with using forums for help. As far as the "Official Forum" are you refering to www.supercard.cn's forum? I technically should have saved this last post for www.supercard.cn's forum instead as 2 days have gone by and not anyone considered replying to such an easy question. I hate the fact that I spent 50 bucks and am 'on my own' due to non-explanatory tutorials. If you know of a good site has good details, easy to understand english-wise, please let me know.

I find this forum more intelligent and helpful than the main forum.
Manually signing your posts is dumb.

Firmware versioning: Get a Passcard 3, a SuperKey, or a slot-1 flashkit. Then it doesn't matter which firmware you have.

Ok, I just exchanged my Supercard SD and guess what...same results. First off, here's the following steps I've done:
1: Formatted SD card to a FAT
2: Copied and pasted upgrade.scu onto card
3: Loaded into GBA to update firmware

Result: Blank screen with the Gameboy logo on it. See below for example.

What did I do wrong? Did I miss something? It should have atleast done something, right? Please, I need the help![/img]

Oh, before I forget, I have used these SD cards in the past for my digital camera if that helps.

Supercard SD, Sandisk 2 GB, AData  256 MB
Supercard One - 512MB Transcend
Pink DSL with flashme v8a Org-FW  haven't checked

Yeah if it's not the super card then it's almost certainly the SD card you're using.

Angry_Gumball

I have 3 SD cards, in which all 3 were used on my digital camera. I don't really want to go out and buy an extra SD card if it's not necessary but I'll probably pick up an SD card at Wal*Mart this weekend anyway to see if it was the card. Before I decide to actually buy one, can anyone here confirm that cards previously formatted by digital cameras/mp3 players etc. won't work? I have tested 2 of the 3 so far and no dice. I need to clean the contacts on the third SD card as my computer's not recognizing that one. Thanks for the help so far.

Another question while I'm here: when I power up the GBA, are there any combo of buttons I have to hold as it turns on or does it just turn on like a regular GBA game?
