i wonder why dont just change it from the ds menu.  will the brightness be different when you get into sc though?

Alite will let you exit back to the supercard menu with your brightness settings intact.  The only side effect I've seen are graphic artifacts around the borders of some GBA games after running Alite.

Is it actually worth flashing the system if battery is your main concern?  Or is that too small of a difference to bother with.  Mine doesn't last long enough for a day's play right now .

yes flashing does help, and its easy to do.

Personally speaking I have two DS lites. One with supercard sd and one with supercard lite.
One is flashed and one isnt. For the past two weeks they've only be used for playing mario kart multiplayer with each other.....
and they pretty much both red light at the same time give or take 10 15 mins......
I still believe flashing the lite only really helps in sleep mode....
