Ok is there like a text or video showing how to open up a ds lite? This is because I droppped my ds lite and now the power on button wont spring back into place because its crooked.

Shock are coming out with DS Lite case replacements and they just put up a FAQ of how to dismantle the DS Lite case here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/62647765@N00/sets/72157594277451148/

Would this do the trick?

Also If anybodys able to open up their ds can they tell me if that the power butting does it sit on a slide thing? (like a closet if the sliding door falls off you wont be really able to open and close it )

Gotrice

Are the only two places where they have the serial numbers are the back of the ds lite (above gba) and on the box?

Sorry for double post no edit button showed

That is interesting news to me DeVS. Seems a little expensive though. I'm thinking about trying the clear plastic conversion on my Navy Blue DS Lite (it has a broken hinge).

No, I don't think that toolkit will do the trick because it uses tri-wing bits.  Toolkits that use bits are typically too big to fit in the DS screw holes.  You can look on eBay for other sources of tri-wing screwdrivers. Make sure the description says it will work with GBA/DS. Also, make sure you consider the shipping cost into the equation.

I'm not sure I understand your question.  There is a plastic cover that goes over the electronic slide switch.  The plastic cover can be removed and the slide switch will still operate.  Does that help you?

Gotrice

Is the slide switch on like a railing because it looks like one side of my ds power switch fell out the railing and it becomes difficult to turn on and off.

Yes, the plastic cover slides on a track. I don't understand how it could jump track though.  You should take apart you DS Lite and inspect it, or send it back to Nintendo. Just be careful when removing the DS Lite back cover not to stress the electronic switch. I've heard of someone snapping the switch off. Make sure all of the screws are removed first, then lift the back cover straight up.

Ok my friend has a warranty on his and he might return it for the new colors of ds. You think you would be fine if accidently "heh" swap serials on the back of the ds and he returned mine?

I know its not snaped because
1. Still has a limited bouce back from spring
2. One side has a gap on it.
3. Still able to move up and down just harder.

I can't recommend doing something like that, but it would probably work.

Gotrice

Yeah walmart *rolls eyes*. He wanted a new color other than white and walmart has the awesome 90 day thing.

If you're going to do that, just swap the entire back cover with the serial intact (if that's what you're inferring).

Gotrice

Ehh w/e I just bought the screwdriver and if indeed broken and not fixable, im just gonna swap the back like you said.
