I am finishing up my PDF flashcart and homebrew guide and need some help with some flashcart pros, cons and/or specifications. If you contribute you will be given credit in the guide if I use your work. I am in need of some help as the guide is 90% done and I just need to check other people’s opinions of what they think pros and cons for different flashcarts are as I don’t want to be bias or misleading.

This is your chance to come out and fight for your flashcart as hundreds of users will download this guide once it is posted and I know many of you have stong feelings for one flashcart or another. I do not want bias opinions but rather actual pros and cons as you would supply in the products review; a bullet point of the flashcart if you may.

If you could post them on this thread, email or pm me with your information please do so ASAP as the guide is almost completed.

Flashcarts I need Pros, Cons, and Specifications for:
- EWin2
- DS-Xtreme
- DSLink
- NeoFlash
- Ninja DS

I have the SuperCard, M3, and EZ products pretty much cleaned up but you can also post some from them if you think I might have missed them.

You can find the old guide at the link below if you would like to see what it started out as and to see what pros and cons I already have for some flashcarts:

Thanks for any help you can give me as I am making this guide for everyone and I hope everyone enjoys it. The new downloadable PDF version is going to be much more comprehensive and is also going to have pictures and even more flashcart comparisons and information!

Thanks for any help,

If anyone could please help it would be appreciated! I am also looking for Beta testers for the guide just to review it and check for any mistakes, corrections, etc.

Please post some pros and cons if you can,

PROS
-can use sd cards
-infinite memory and use of bigger sized cards than micro and minisd
-sturdy build quality
-skinable menus(i'm assuming from pictures)
-no need to flash(builtin passme)
-no need to patch roms
-runs the castlevania video perfectly
-can use slot2 for ram pack or rumblepack
-Runs alot of the homebrew like moonshell and scummvm
CONS
-IT sticks out like a O_o which means you could accidently slice of the sd part xD
-the touch menu is slow and somewhat unresponsive
-not full compatibility
-can't play gba
-cost alot of money
Edit: you may want to wait for the ds-x to come out before writing stuff on it.

Excellent work. I think you have made an accurate and thorough comparison.  :)

Supercard:

Some people have reported getting certain 4GB SD cards to work. I have not tried this myself.  They need to be formatted with a 64K sector size.  It seems not all 4GB SD cards will work though.

DSLink:

Quote from: "xizz88"When you said "I was also able to start and play a “DS Download Play” between my DS-Link DS and another DS Lite," did you mean you were able to play ds downloadplay with a nonflashed ds?

Yes the DS that downloaded was not flashed.

HopeBuy shipped my DSLink so I might have more to add later.

DeVS

Ya DS Link Pros:

Cheap
Fast
Great DS compatability
Slot 1 mod so slot 2 is free (Opera ram pack and rumble pack work)
DS Download play works with other NON flashed DS units
Great OS gui

Cons:
No GBA
Either has to have flash me or the lame swap trick

Also there is a english support forum now too so that can't be a con anymore: http://www.takeforum.com/dslink/index.php?sid=6740a05919f8d43966986325a0d4fcfb&mforum=dslink

Ewin2

Pros:
good DS support
Cheap
Great OS gui

Cons:
poor homebrew support
"Lite" version sticks out of the DS almost as much as the Mini version
VERY poor english support (and half the time the chinese support sites download links dont work)
Laugh Hard, It's A Long Ways To The Bank

FifthE1ement

DS Downloadplay works with teh DS Link even though the ROMs are patched?

Thanks for all the help BTW!
